  1. Bass Pro Shops Patriot Rods.
  2. Its the diameter. Any braid 30 lbs or over will break most bass rods. Common. Sense dictates not to stress your rod to that point.
  3. I carry 6 set ups on a 14ft row boat. I know a guy who takes pvc tubes and makes clampable 4 rod holders that go on each side of a rowboat. That gives you 8 rods in the rod holders plus like 5 in the boat would be 13 total.
  4. I did the same thing. Gave my spinning to my daughter.
  5. What he said . And IMHO you can't go wrong with Fuji Sic or Alconite. Never had one go bad yet. I prefer micro guides.
  6. Lews LFS is awesome. Sportsmans outfitters has them for like 89 dollars.
  7. What he said about the Lews.
  8. I don't have one but I've heard they sense backlash and react to it by which setting you choose.
  9. I would never use braid that light on a baitcaster. It's just asking for a big fish to cause line dig if you hook one. If you want to be finesse use 8lb mono or flouro. I throw 1/5 oz neds on 8lb mono on a Lews Tournament Pro with a 6-6 medium BPS Patriot Rod with no problem. Most of todays small low profile baitcasters should be able to pull this off. I can't imagine a computerized reel wouldn't do it.
  10. How do you get any distance with that much spool tension ?
  11. Sufix 832 and Tufline domin8
  12. Lews tournament pro. Nothing is readily available these days.
  13. You need to treat your equipment better. That spool and bail show signs of completely rough treatment. That reel will mess up any line.
  14. LFS .Can be bought at Sportsmans outfitters or other places for 85 to 88.
  15. I wouldn't go less than 50 lb braid on a baitcaster. Not filled enough. Did you tape it to the spool?
  16. I'm a Lews fan and would tell you don't buy the crush. The reason is it's not an aluminum frame. Go with an LFS for 99 or step up to an MP. You can get a tournament pro for 139nat sportsmans outfitters.
  17. Where do we get this from ? My Lews hold up just fine. They still outcast all my friends Shimano and Diawa reels after 4 years.
  18. Avid x has cheap guides. Regular avid is better. Patriot has way better guides 10 year warranty made in USA and is lighter and better balanced. If I was buying st.croix I'd get the avid not the avid x.
  19. Bass Pro Shops Patriot rods are 200. IMHO it's the best rod you can buy in the range. 10 year warranty. Light sensitive strong and great balance.
  20. Love the combat grips.
  21. Send it to Lews maybe you'll get a new one.
  22. Wow !!! You can't beat that !!!
  23. Yes it's the first version. A friend of mine gave it to me. It's ok but I never would have bought one. It is fairly smooth but The spool button feels a little clunky to me.The cheapest ones I've bought are the 99 $ lfs which is a great reel at That price point. I also have Tournament Pro reels which are awesome.
