  1. The kid in the picture with the long rod and the fish.
  2. So he has no problem pitching with a rod that long ?
  3. Unless ur 5 ft tall.
  4. For pitching and flipping it can be critical if you're height challenged. Other than that it doesn't matter. Rod length should be a mix of what technique and how much accuracy you need. Shorter rods are easier to cast accurately.Shorter rods are. Lighter and generally better balanced.
  5. Trying to cast hard with a baitcaster results in less distance.its all about technique. Cast with your wrist not your arm. Centrifugal brakes work best. Handle should face up.
  6. I have a Lews Custom Lite on a medium bass pro Patriot rod that casts 1/10 nedheads with a Trd on them really well. Zero backlash with the reel set right.
  7. Elite is smooth casting. Siege is more abrasion resistant and more for casting reels. Advance is their best mono for casting reels. Super low stretch.
  8. black dissapears in low light backrounds. white stands out. white dissapears looking up at the surface. black sticks out in that situation.if your bait is on the bottom black blends in with other stuff down there. i use neon green with the last 5 feet colored black.
  9. high vis neon is easier to see
  10. Get high vis braid and color the last 5 feet low vis green with a permanent marker
  11. I second that.
  12. You've obviously never been cursed by witches and demons !!!
  13. Yes. Happens every time.
  14. I'd give it a shot. Lews products are awesome.
  15. Congratulations !!! My best is 7-14 and I'm due for an 8. I'm sure I've hooked a few but never landed them.its been 27 years since I caught mine.
  16. I have a wife for that !!! Do you have gasoline smell on your hands or tobacco ? I suck at drop shot but Ned rig rules. It's better than catching nothing.
  17. I never leave it that slack when Ned fishing.
  18. I'm probably one of the few on here who owns a couple. BPS rods are not a hot brand on this forum .All I can tell you is I love both of mine.
  19. I thought braid was more sensitive than mono or flouro. You need a good baitcaster with a light spool. I recommend Lews Custom lite. It casts light weights really well.
  20. Ii used mono all last year and can't really say I caught more fish than I did with braid. I've had the same results with flouro.
  21. Before somebody found out doyo made Lews I had heard all kinds of incorrect speculation for years. Bass pro prints plenty of bad reviews of their products. If you're gonna be that skeptical all you can do is buy it and try it.
  22. Check there website. More positive review percentages than most rods. I have 2 of the baitcasters. 6-6 medium and 7 medium. Both light and sensitive . plenty of strength and backbone but still have flex. They are really well balanced also. Have sic Fuji guides which is awesome at that price range.
  23. I don't use spinning but I fish Ned rigs on baitcast. I can cast a 1/10 oz on my Lews tournament pro and my Lews Custom lite. The custom lite casts it better. The first year I fished it on 20 braid. Went to mono last year and got better casting distance because mono doesn't dig at all. I tried it on 50 lb 832 and it casts even better on the custom lite. I then did a bathtub test to see how it looks in clear water. The Ned stands up on the bottom and wiggled The line sinks to the bottom. My theory is sitting on the bottom of the lake the last thing they are going to look at is the line on the bottom. The Ned will be attractive to them and take their mind off everything else IMHO. I think this is even .more likely when Ned rigging a craw with 2 claws waving at the fish. I'm Definately going to see how this goes.
