  1. Right before a thunderstorm fish go wild. After the front goes through and pressure drops they shut off. I've seen it plenty of times.
  2. There is no way mono is easier to cast than braid . The loose line is an almost backlash. It will take your thumb or more spool tension or brake. Either that or go back to braid.
  3. Never use less than 50 lb.i suggest Vicious no Fade Braid.
  4. Vicious no fade braid in yellow. By far the best I've ever used in 30 years.
  5. i keep some every year. generally under 5. all between 13 to 18 inches.
  6. It really makes no sense and should void the warranty. Why didn't you just warranty it ?
  7. I would never use anything under Fuji Alconite with braid. I've see guides get grooved on rides with lesser guides. Not All Guides Are Good With Braid !!!!
  8. Not if u buy an LFS and set it right. Like I said get someone who knows how to help u.
  9. Send it to me I'll use it.
  10. How often do u retie?
  11. As far as I know Pflueger no longer sells bait casters. They used to be my brand and now u can't find them.
  12. If u buy a low cost bait caster u will pay in aggravation. I suggest a Lews LFS right now on sale at Bass pro for 79$. That can't be beat. For the rod forget the 2 piece. I suggest falcon bucco at Bass pro 6-6 mh moderate for 99$. Anything cheaper will be harder to learn on. The reel has magnets with a dial to set them and they work well.i prefer centrifugal brakes but they cost more.I would suggest 50 lb vicious no fade braid for line. Braid is easier to cast and easier to remove a backlash and doesn't get damaged by a backlash where mono and flouro do. I suggest you get someone who knows how to use one properly to teach you.
  13. Pull the spool out and oil it. Do you know what kind of brakes it has? Either that or send to Delaware Valley Tackle
  14. Vicious no Fade Braid in 50 lb test. Best braid made.
  15. IMHO spinning is not for deep diving crankbaits. A low gear ratio low line retrieve bait caster is what you need. Deep cranks on a spinning rod will tire you out fast as spinning reels generally take in to much line. Jerkbaits on the other hand are fine with spinning.its a totally different technique that's not as stressful. Get a 6 ratio lews bbq pro with the externally adjustable centrifugal brake and learn how to cast. In 2 weeks you should be fine. Have someone who knows how teach you.
  16. Lews Custom Lite shallow spool
  17. I learned it from Bill dance like 30 years ago.
  18. Never pick it. Push down release and jam your thumb on spool pull out line gently untill it stops. Pull on the loops with your fingers to loosen them .jam thumb and repeat as needed. 99.9 percent of knots pop out with no damage to line. The only backlash that it might not work on is when you hook a tree or your buddy behind you.
  19. U should almost never have to cut braid out. It's the easiest to remove a backlash from and the line doesn't get damaged.
  20. I would stay with fluorocarbon. Are you using a shallow pool?Shallow spool equals less digging. Somehow I can't picture braid with bfs. I hate leaders more than I dislike fluorocarbon line.
