  1. Depends on the lures. Lipless cranks are the worst.i can be 50/50 with a huge fish on them. Since I've been using a net and not horsing them I've improved that. Big fish are the hardest to keep on. They didn't get big by being stupid.single hook lures I rarely loose them on. Overall I would say l land 90 percent in a season.
  2. Trash the leader and fish straight braid.why on earth would u get rid of the braid. Line visibility is b.s. I've never seen line dig on a spinning reel. Use 20 lb quality braid and u should be fine. Don't pull on snags.wrap line around a 1 inch diameter wood dowel and pull. Also take the slack out before reeling in line by raising your rod tip. suggest Vicious no fade braid
  3. spinning is a different animal. i use all casting. i get the swivel to eliminate line twist. line twist is one of the reasons i dont fish spinning anymore. anyway on baitcasting i dont use leaders. ive been fishing braid since the early 90s and dont believe bass are line shy. ive tried flouro plenty of times over the years and found no difference in bite rate. bad days are bad no matter what line you use. i have friends who use high vis braid with no leader and no markers and they outcatch guys with flouro. dont get me wrong it works both ways sometimes but its not because of the line. its because of fish mood and presentation. also a good 8 strand braid in 40 or 50 lb test has more than enough abrasion resistance. i dont worry about pickeral or pike biting it off as thats never happened to me even fishing lakes in canada that are loaded with pike. and as glenn may says the extra knot is just one more place for failure. if i wanted invisible line i would fish flouro for a main line and not a leader. and you cant beat the hookset of straight braid.with straight braid it takes just a snap of the wrist to set well.
  4. Walleye are yummy
  5. great video. so many people try to whip it out there with their arm strength. its true that casting is all wrist.
  6. Was thinking of trying pline no fade.
  7. I've used other lines and fished with plenty of good fishermen over the years. Based on my observations I think I'm going to spend my years from 65 up fishing nothing but braid. I've done it plenty of times and then someone says you won't catch fish on hard days. Well with over 30 years comparing braid and flouro I've come to the conclusion it doesn't matter. Bad days were bad days no matter which line I put in the water.so my conclusion is my Golden years will be spent using nothing but braid so I have less to worry about. And with the edition of No Fade Braids all the bs with markers is done with. Braid just fits me best.
  8. Denny Brauer Bill Dance Roland Martin KVD
  9. Why is 50lb braid ridiculous? On a spinning rod yes but on a baitcasting rod NO !!!!! You have a lot to learn if that's what you meant.
  10. You need to buy higher quality rods and use rod and reel covers. .
  11. I wish. Maybe if I wasn't married.
  12. Different body shapes. Different frame materials and spool sizes. Different brake systems. Different level wind offsets. Different colors.
  13. cool. 832 is good. yeah i dont think fish care either. the only thing that cares is my brain and my ocd.
  14. leader knots suck .i hate the sound through the guides. brother you should try vicious no fade braid or plines no fade braid
  15. get a 10 inch long 1 inch diameter wood dowel and wrap your braid around it and pull. problem solved. i use a 10 inch so i can put both hands on it to pull. either way its the best way to go
  16. Have to set hook hard with jig on short rod.suggest 50 lb Vicious no Fade Braid
  17. That makes more sense. The 2 heavy rods would be worm rods. The shorter one is more accurate casts. The 5-6 I assume has a pistol grip ? Good for close quarter spinnerbaits
  18. Never heard of a 5-6 heavy falcon bionic blade. The most I've heard of is mh and a bionic blade is a bass pro shop rod. .
  19. Any updates ? The line appears to be getting much better reviews now. They also make a no fade version.
  20. I used to like them but they weigh to much since I've hit 65. My newest reels are 4.9 oz and 5 oz except for my 6.7 oz. Bb1
  21. 1967 with an old zebco combo and a worm. Caught a 12 inch bass and that was it.
