  5. weeds can get in the levelwind and cause it to jam.if you force it it strips and you have damage requiring gear replacement.
  6. the patriarch is a completely different frame than the johnny morris.i plan on buying my first patriarch in february.

  10. no!!!take it back!!!
  11. I would suggest the very opposite. Regardless of what so many people think, sensitivity is completely independent of power. The power of the blank does not change the fiber's ability to transmit vibration. Many people think that a delicate tip, or just a lighter tip is more sensitive because they can see it move... that's not sensitivity, just a weaker tip. If you just go by the function of the blank's taper- I would argue that the heavier power rod is actually more sensitive since it is less likely to dampen vibration in the tip. When you feel something and are unsure of what you feel... one of those times when you can't tell if it's a very subtle bite or brush- what do you do? Do you look at the tip or close your eyes and feel? A lighter rod may "show" movement with no transmission of vibration. Sensitivity in a rod is something I define by feel, not sight. I'd even take a heavy over a med-hvy to worm fish... because I think the lighter rod dampens more. keith i agree with this %100!!!
  12. generally a telescopic rod is not as sensitive as a 1 piece but you probably couldn't feel the difference.balancing helps any rod in the sensitivity department.sensitivity is affected most by what line you use.
  13. so what if it broke?loomis has broken rods returned constantly.most rods breaking are due to owner abuse and not rod defects.imho the johnny morris signature series rods are the best rods made.
  14. they now have a narrow spool patriarch.
  15. i'd buy one in a minute!!!
  16. are u sure it's not coming out of the gap in the loop on the hook?
  17. it's the round thing on top of the mountain!!!actually it is at the top of a big hill.
  18. friday 10-3-08 i went fishing on titicus from 1 pm to 8:30 pm.i was able to do this as i quit my job at central ave chrysler with no notice after 11 years and told them to stick it where the sun doesn't shine!!!i started a new job at greenwich chrysler in ct. on monday.it's less base pay but central ave was screwing me big time.any way the fishing was ok and i caught a couple of 2 lbers and then a front came through and i figured the fish would totally shut down when the skies turned bluebird clear.the exact opposite happened and they started biting a spinnerbait in shallow water.i ended the day with 14 bass. the 3 best weighed 4-14,4-8,and 4-2.sorry no pictures because i can't do self portraits and none of my buddies wanted to go that day.see what they missed!!! friday 10-10-08 was completely different story.it was bluebird clear for a few days so you think papa john and i would get a few fish.we managed 4 bites and 2 in the boat 2 were lost right at the boat but weren't that big anyway.all bites were on deep diving cranks worked over rocks.here's a picture of the best one at 3-14.
  19. of corse they see it.and they see your hook and the big ugly weedguard on a jig.does it matter?
  20. i will not fish with any other rod than a johnny morris.
  21. yes,it's a joke.it didn't really happen.
  22. THE LAST FISHING TRIP A man was on the water for his weekly fishing trip. He began his day with an 8-pound bass on the first cast and a 7-pounder on the second. On the third cast he had just caught his first ever bass over 11 pounds when his cell phone rang. It was a doctor notifying him that his wife had just been in a terrible accident and was in critical condition and in the ICU. The man told the doctor to inform his wife where he was and that he'd be there as soon as possible. As he hung up he realized he was leaving what was shaping up to be his best day ever on the water. He decided to get in a couple of more casts before heading to the hospital He ended up fishing the rest of the morning, finishing his trip with a stringer like he'd never seen, with three bass over 10 pounds. He was jubilant! Then he remembered his wife. Feeling guilty, he dashed to the hospital. He saw the doctor in the corridor and asked about his wife's condition. The doctor glared at him and shouted, 'You went ahead and finished your fishing trip didn't you! I hope you're proud of yourself! While you were out for the past four hours enjoying yourself on the pond, your wife has been languishing in the ICU! It's just as well you went ahead and finished, because it will be more than likely the last fishing trip you ever take!' 'For the rest of her life she will require 'round the clock care. And you'll be her care giver forever!' The man was feeling so guilty he broke down and sobbed. The doctor then chuckled and said, 'I'm just messin' with you. She's dead. What'd you catch?'
