i use 3 colors.white, white chartreuse and chartreuse.these 3 are all u need imho.i use double willow double colorado and tandem blades in 3/8 and 1/2 sizes.i prefer the blades to be 1 gold and one silver but do use some of just gold or silver.the simpiler the better imho.
most of my spinnerbait bites come after the bait hits something.when it hits something let it stall and flutter.do this when the bait isn't hitting anything also.slow rolling on the bottom and burning on the top also work at times.i have to say %95 of strikes come when the bait stops and flutters then restarts and whamo fish is on.the fish in my avatar is a spinnerbait fish and so is this one caught yesterday.
it amazes me that a guy in 1932 could have a fish weighed and notarized but we don't believe it!!!he did what the requirements were at that time.it's like saying that other events in history never happened either because we don't have photographic evidence.that would be obviously absurd.let the record stand.btw i personally feel that 25 lber in california should have counted.hooked on the outside of the mouth proves the fish went for the bait.it also proves perry's fish was possible.there are also fish people never catch that may be even bigger.over here in ny we have the nyc reservoir system.state police practice scuba diving in these reservoirs.there are reports of huge trout that sit on the bottom .there are reports of plenty of huge bass also.huge fish don't get big by getting caught.just because others haven't caught fish this size doesn't mean they don't exist.i fish a pond close to my house where i catch nothing but dinks under 12 inches.one day i pulled a 6 pounder out.this fish was roughly 6 times the weight of the others so i guess it didn't exist!!!
a patriarch with dual brakes adjusted right will outcast anybody thumbing a reel during the cast.the only time you need to thumb it is when you want to stop it.welcome to the modern times when thumbing is obsolete. ;D
Man, them must be really good ....... don 't got as single one of them. :
dudes, calm down!!!raul knows more about fishing than most people. raul, get a patriarch and come into the modern times!!!you won't regret it. ;D
the reel with the levelwind problem probably has debris stuck on the gear.this can happen to any reel.bps rods from the bionic blade up are fantastic.many people swear by their xps flourocarbon line and their excel mono.the johnny morris reels are some of the best made.imho johnny morris rods are the best.
ia this a baitcaster?if it is you either have braid with no tape or backing or somebody got oil on the drag washers or they put it together wrong.the first 2 are easy.if there is oil on the drag just tighten it down all the way and stop the spool with your thumb and reel against it.this takes a while but squezzes the oil off the washers and restores drag pressure.
if your backlash is at the start of the cast you need more centrifugal or magnetic brake.if it's during the middle of the cast you need more thumb or spool tension.
i have tried flouro and liked seguar invizx the best.the problem is i see no advantage or increase in numbers of fish over cajun red cast which handles way better and costs far less.yes it is more sensitive than mono but flouro is far more brittle and one good backlash wrecks it.
if you are going to buy a pflueger which i highly agree with then get the supreme at 100$.i disagree with a 2500 size.get a 4000 size.the bigger spool will give you far less line issues.the reel is magnesium so it is light even in the 4000 size.stay away from graphite frame reels.the president is graphite in the spinning version.graphite reels have to much flex.i have had big fish snap the neck on graphite.it also flexs to much causing bearing misalignment.you can probably pick up a bps bionic blade for around $50.these are great rods for the money.

the center of where your hand holds the rod.for me thats the center of the reel seat.i think formost people that would be correct since most people palm the reel.also if you balance to the center of the reel seat then the rod will balance with any reel.
The Johnny Morris Signature Series and Elite are essentially the same reel as the Pflueger Patriarch, which is lighter and can be found on Ebay for $140-$165. I have one and it's much smoother than my Curado E7 and casts just as well.
not true.the patriarch is built on a revo frame.the only feature the patriarch has the same is the dual braking system.
