  1. get fireline 50 to 65 lb braid.yes your line is digging.powerpro is outdated.
  2. don't admit that on some other websites!!! ;D
  3. why would you put 8 lb line on a baitcaster?you should be using 10 to 25 lb diameter lines on it.i suggest 50 or 65 lb fireline braid.
  4. YOU.............this is all your fault, you got me into this dodeguy! LOL, Just kidding man! Thanks for putting me on to the FireLine, i really liked it! I have some on a Revo SX that has almost stopped losing color and it matches the lily pads PERFECTLY!!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!braid takes getting used to.i tried the magic eraser on my handles and it works wonders.it worked better slightly damp than dry.my handles look new.i am a auto tecnician so my hands tend to get the cork blackened.the eraser took all that off and the red pp stains and green sufix stains.it also took the stains they left on my reels off.the fireline braid seems to have stopped losing color and didn't stain nearly as bad as other lines.the only braid i know that doesn't stain is spiderwire invisibraid (white) but imho it stinks.was on my reels for 2 weeks and i ripped it off.
  5. the fireline does it the least but it's the nature of the beast.just clean them like the guys said and you'll be ok.my fireline braid has actually stopped loosing color but is still a good shade of green.
  6. none,i use electrcal tape.
  7. I'm speaking of the anodizing. titanium deposition!!! ;Dmuch better than anodizing!!!
  8. johhny morris is a different frame than a revo patriarch.it's bigger.
  9. that's my next baitcaster!!!!
  10. this is a no brainer.get a patriarch wide spool.
  11. Have you actually tried the fireline braid? I have been using it for several months now and love it. i doubt he has from the tone of the reply.he probably has it confused with regular fireline.
  12. powerpro is outdated and stone age.sufix is better and the new fireline braid is best imho.any lure can be fished on braid.some people use leaders and some don't.i personally don't use a leader.over the years i thought i caught more fish using low vis line and even went to flouro.last year i went back to braid mid year and had no drop in catch rates and it actually went up.i think the differences from year to year were because of other reasons and not line visability.
  13. johnny morris signature series.
  14. pflueger patriARCH narrow spool.
  15. i use 6/20 fireline braid on spinning with no issues.
  16. you're joking!!!powerpro is outdated.it was once the best but it's day is over.
  17. unless you are tieing terrible knots or getting cut on rocks 50 and 65 lb fireline or sufix braid will explode your rod before it snaps.
  18. pflueger has always been serious.can't wait to see this reel!!!
  19. are you sure a rock didn't cut it?spiderwire stinks.fireline's new 8 strand braid is the best imho followed by sufix.powerpro is an outdated 4 strand braid.all the rest are pretenders.YOU SHOULD ALSO BE USING AT LEAST 65 LB TEST.the thicker line will withstand more abrasion and will not dig into your spool.it is only 15 lb diameter.
  20. tie to spool and then put electrical tape over it.if you want to use less line then use more tape.i never use leaders.use a palomar knot and crazy glue the tag end so it doesn't fray.and use fireline braid.
  21. gotta disagree.no way is a graphite frame president better than an aluminum frame medalist.i've broken many a neck on a graphite frame spinning reel fighting 5 pound largies in the weeds . this will never happen with an aluminum frame medalist or president xt.
  22. the medalist is a great reel.do not buy a reel with a graphite frame.they flex and can break.that rules out the trion and the regular president.the president xt and medalist are both aluminum and have no flex.if you could save a few more $ you could get a supreme which is awesome for $99.
  23. never had a problem hooking fish on ewg hooks.maybe it's not a bass but a panfish tapping your bait.bass swallow the bait and it's almost impossible not to get a hook in when you set with an ewg.
