  1. 30 lb in fireline braid will not dig at all on a baitcaster.30 lb in any other brand will.
  2. i didn't get knots but i do agree it is to soft.
  3. i've used it and it digs sometimes.had it on a reel for last year.fireline braid never dug in.the samuria is softer and smoother but the fireline braid is rounder and has more body.if they didn't make the fireline braid i would use the diawa braid as my 2nd choice. Does the Fireline have a waxy coating on it, and how does the diameter compare to the Samuri..? I'm to lazy to look it up.. ;D no waxy coating.i think the diawa is absolutely thinner in the closest pound tests.they are both good i just prefer the fireline braid.if they didn't make it i would buy the diawa.

  5. pflueger supreme xt and patriarch are by far the best buys bar none in spinning reels.
  6. samurai is soft and digs sometimes.fireline braid never digs.all others are pretenders.
  7. all braids break at a much higher pound test than rated.that's how they can get the line as thin as they do.there lb test rating is actually closere to the truth than the others.
  8. drag power doesn't matter with cranks.i'd get the pq out of all of them.
  9. h3tu-twr american rodsmith's 6-6 jig @worm rod with a pflueger patriarch xt spooled with 30 lb fireline braid.you could fish almost anything on this combo without a problem and it's superlight.
  10. http://www.tackletour.com/reviewpfluegerspinningpreICAST10.html get a patriarch or supreme xt reel.it's a no brainer for the money.
  11. 65 lb fireline braid in 14 lb diameter should be just what you need.
  12. i love baitcasting but for smaller lures that are really light spinning is the way to go.
  13. if you want feel when fishing cranks use a softer rod with
  14. i'd like to get one.i have a supreme xt that is awesome.
  15. DodgeGuy what will you ever do if they discontinue that line... I think you'll quit fishing! I use Spiderwire 20lb camo braid and a 12lb flouro leader... I have the same set up on my baitcaster too. hope they come out with a better line or switch to samurai.
  16. now you got it.but it is possible to have 8 strands and not have a round line.more strands is generally a smoother line.
  17. if you have holes in the spool it works.if not you got lucky.
  18. never said power pro sucks.i said it's outdated.it's a 4 strand braid where as fireline braid is 6 strand up to 20 lb and 8 strand from 30 on up.i used to use ipower pro all the time.fireline braid and diawa's samurai are much better braids.they are rounder and far smoother and the quality control of the braid texture is much superior.rounder smoother lines dig less on a baitcaster and generally handle better.i've also over the years heard complaints of power pro snapping during a cast where as i have never heard this with other braids.i tend to think the line was dug into the spool and the person cast a lure really hard and the lines just snapped.i have never had this happen to me so i can't really confirm it.
  19. if i'm not mistaken you use spinning reels.braid does not dig on spinning reels.it only happens with casting reels.it has to do with how the line lays.
  20. Ever tried the Samuri..? Same question goes to Dodgeguy.. yes.it's good line and smoother than the fireline braid.it's also softer and digs where the fireline doesn't.my preference would be the fireline braid but i can understand some people liking diawa braid better.
  21. the best braid without a doubt is it is the best handling and casting braid made.it is 8 strands at 30 lb and up and 6 below 30 lb.it does not dig at all in my use as long as you use at least 50 lb on your baitcaster.there is no other braid that does not dig.diawa samurai is super soft and smooth but will still dig in on a baitcaster.
  22. buy a reel with a titanium depostion finish.
