  1. cajun makes more than one red line.people who have memory issues with it have generally purchased red lightening which is a trolling line/ocean line not really meant for casting.advantage is a copoly with to much memory.red cast is a super limp catsable line with the least memory of any mono i ever used.i caught tons of fish on cajun line.stopped using it and went back to braid because i hate line stretch.
  2. like i said i do it to keep the tag end neat.anyextra dtrengh it adds to a properly tied knot is a plus.you are correct that a properly tied knot is a must.
  3. never digs or snaps on a cast.it's also not bad in rocks .
  4. all braid tag ends fray.that's why they make crazy glue.
  5. stop using garbage line.use this.
  6. don't like the way it looks.no it's not my only issue!!! ;D
  7. i have a mental hangup with long tags.
  8. is it a curado?they were known for this.sometimes tightening the screw under the line guide helps.if not your line guide gears are probably worn.
  9. i use it all the time on braid to keep the tag from fraying.it also makes it impossible for the knot to slip.
  10. i'd go 7-6 at your height.better hooksets and power.
  11. spinning is related to spool bearings.did you put them on right and install the spool right?
  12. i use fireline braid but suffix 832 is supposed to be good also.i have friends i trust who use it and have told me so.
  13. http://www.basspro.com/The-Balancer-Rod-Balancing-System/product/16515/-324028 i use these.
  14. all rods imho need to be balanced.they are all tip heavy.a perfectly balanced rod balances in the center of the reel seat.this enables you to put any reel on it and not change the balance because the reel is above the fulcrum.yes it adds weight to the rod but when fishing most people think the rod feels lighter because your not fighting tip weight all day.
  15. that's easy.get a pflueger patriarch.
  16. you have dirt in the levelwind keeping it from moving all the way over so it binds.
  17. st.croix rods will be around long after these new comers have come and gone.lifetime warranty is only good if the company still exists.
  18. Fluorocarbon is invisible in the water... Clear line is much less visible in clear water. All my braid is green and I have no problems catching fish... I rarely use a leader as well. I use Stren mono (blue) with great results as well. Choose the line for the type of fishing and conditions your fishing. flouro is not invisible.i've seen many camrea shots where you can see it plain as day.
  19. forget the flouro and color the last 6 feet black with a permanent marker.
