that is why I will not buy any reel without a aluminum or magnesium frame.i have had that happen on graphite frame reels.as far as I know the neck on that reel is a composite.
when using braid you should have a 1 inch diameter wood dowel to wrap your braid around and pull when snagged.no broken rods or reels or cut hands that way.
profit goes back to japan.much better to keep it here if possible.loomis is not an american company anymore just like budwieser.i won't drink bud anymore because of this.if people want a loomis rod it's cool but it isn't american.
I use a 6-6 because longer rods bother my tendonitis.i'm converting to 6-6 falcon bucoo rods which are under 4 oz.my arm feels much better.i also fish out of a rowboat so pitching with a shorter rod is easier.
the premier has the infinitly variable brake.there is no better braking system imho than this.it's the same as my mgx which can cast light lures and heavy lures furthur then any reel i ever used with no backlash or thumb.
