  1. All the ones i know of are private. I fish one down the street from my house a couple times a week and it has a bunch of dinks a limited number of large fish. I have pulled a couple 4-5 pounders out but they dont bite much. Here are a couple of my better fish from this summer.
  2. You fish the small lake in Middletown park or one of the many ponds around town?
  3. Nice bill! I got out around 630 am saturday morning and had the best day of fishing numbers wise ever. Now that i know some holes I'm sure ill do even better next time. I plan to be out there sunday morning early next week. to build off what i have learned. I'm pretty sure i have a serious smallmouth addiction after this past trip.
  4. Plan on hitting the potomac for the first time on my kayak tomorrow morning. I was looking into launch points and was wondering if Nolands ferry is a better option than mouth of monacacy for fishing from a kayak. I havent fished the potomac at all in years so forgive my ignorance. Havent hooked a smallmouth yet this year, I plan to change that tomorrow... once again thanks for suggestions and light lines fellas.
  5. Hit Little Seneca Friday from about 7am to 3pm. Paddled all of the lake on the west side of the bridge and to first stick up cove on the east side. Had no luck all morning.Missed a few in the stickups way out west. The wind was a bit much to fish back there in the yak. So off to the east side I went. Caught 2 just past bridge 1 14" and one 17". Went to the stick ups and a friend and I were hammering them on the Ned rig. Largest 19". the bite died after an hour or so. Not a bad B day off work doing what I love. Next Sunday I'm hitting the Potomac for sure.
  6. Nice Bill. I've been taking the yak to black hills the last few Sunday mornings. Trying to figure the lake out. My best fish was about 4lbs Just west of the 121 bridge. Have a lot to learn there but have not been skunked yet. I'm thinking the fish are down deeper like 15 to 20 ft.I may have to hit the Potomac this Sunday and check out the small jaw action. I haven't been to Culler in a few weeks since the move to Mtown. I'm open to any suggestions on black hills this time of year from our forum folks. I always launch from 121 out of respect for the boat crowd so I haven't really explored the east side of the bridge a whole lot. Tight lines.
  7. I was thinking about taking the kayak to piney run this weekend. Never been to the lake before and I was wondering if the fishing is worth the entry fee. If its good any info would be great.
  8. Got my first of the season in baker park saturday morning. 4.78 lbs Smashed a lipless as I was casting and walking to my car. Anyone fish whittier lake at all? I hear its pretty good from a DNR officer I talked to a middletown park. He mentioned large fish and a good many of them.
  9. Urbana was 80% iced out still this morning.
  10. I have not looked into the rules as far as putting a yak in but I'd like to do the same. It's about a 300 yard walk down hill to the water. Made a cart for my native so I'm game.
  11. I hit baker park from 4:30 to 5:30ish yesterday evening and fished around the house and the east side for the most part with no luck. Lakes only a couple mins from my house. What were you getting bit on? I was fishing a shakey head real slow and a couple other things. I did see nightcrawler dirt spilled on the bank.... Trying to get that first of the season. Going to hit Urbana lake this weekend. Had great luck there this past fall.
  12. Hows It going my fellow Maryland anglers. New to the firum and it looks like a lot of the treads I read are from people relatively close to where I live here in Frederick. Thanks to a friend I work with I got hit hard with the bass fishing bug this past summer. Cant get enough. We fish the southern end of Tridelphia most of the time on his bass boat and I hit a couple ponds in Middletown I have permission to fish. I was hoping I could get a couple suggestions on decent places to fish near Frederick that i may have over looked. Just purchased a Native ultimate FX12 kayak to get off the bank and to the fish. Does anyone have info on Greenbrier or Cunningham falls lake as far as how they fish. Cant wait for the ice to go and to get a line in. Thank you in advance for any information. Tight lines!
