  1. Guy cleaning a largemouth next to me found at least a two foot garter snake in its belly. I was quite surprised and needed a picture
  2. I just bought this lure and was wondering the brand name/model. Any ideas? It is a Wakebait or very shallow diving crankbait. Very good paint job/ possibly hand painted. Yellow belly dark burnt orange body with white splotches on the sides. The bill has a weird lip on the bottom. It has a dorsal fin. Never seen anything like this lure.
  3. Being an angler on a budget I only have a couple rod and reel set ups so having rods for multipurpose is a must. I am looking for advice about what line to put on a crankbait and spinnerbait/chatterbait rod. The rod and reel setup is a 6.4:1 lews tournament MG and a 7 foot medium fast abu garcia vengeance. I used 14 lb berkley vanish fluorocarbon last year and found the set up to be too light for spinnerbait/chatterbaits however I liked it as a cranking rod. Would a higher quality FC line such as Sunline Sniper reduce line stretch and improve hook ups or would braid be a better option? Not a fan of tying braid to leader knots either but would consider. I know separate set ups would be ideal but this is what I have to work with. Thanks for the help
  4. Just looking for advice on what your'e favorite bluegill replacement skirts are. Thanks
  5. A reel that can handle bucktails/ big spinnerbaits things like that
  6. I mostly bass fish but I am going on a pike trip to Canada this year and I also do some musky fishing so I am looking for a high resistance reel that will work for multiple applications. I've been looking at maby an ambassadeur, daiwa millionaire, abu garcia orra winch, okuma akena,, and bass pro muskie reel. I have a lews tournament mg that I got this year that I will be using for bass but I also tried throwing it with some musky/pike stuff and it worked actually pretty well. Just looking to pick another up so I don't have to change my reel over from rod to rod. Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated thanks
  7. Recently I recieved some 50lb. Berkley tracer braid and am interested in your thoughts on it. I usually use moss colored braid because I feel the fish can't see it as well(I fish mostly stained and muddy waters.). I'm worried if I use this braid the fish will be able to see it a lot easier, but I know I'll be able to see the line better as well. Anyone have issues with this before? This is all a confidence issue for me and just looking for some advice. I'll be using this for all purpose application since I don't have a lot of money and only have a few setups. Flipping and pitching, frogs, spinnerbaits and chatterbaits.
  8. Thanks to everyone. I'm looking at a gander mountain series rod since I know I can get a discount because I know someone who works there. Anyone tried the bull dawg predator series rods? Same price as the gander mountain musky.
  9. I know this is a bass website but I wasn't sure where else to ask... So I am looking for a heavy rod atleast 7.5 ft in length under $100 for musky fishing.. I throw a variety of lures from big bulldawgs to smaller bucktails so a rod with a wide range would be preferred. I know this is a tight budget but it would be great if anyone had any suggestions. I am a tall guy so a rod with a longer handle would fit me better. Also if anyone has any tips for musky reels that would be appreciated. Thanks
  10. Does anyone have any suggestions for some good quality snaps? Just looking for some opinions so if anyone could help that would be wonderful. Thanks
  11. I'm looking for a heavy atleast 7.5 foot rod for pretty cheap. Looking for under 80$. If anyone could help that would be great.
