  1. BPS Browning midas. Bought three on sale around 2007 for 79 .00 each. Only fished shimano for previous 20 some years. This is the reel that turned me to the dark side. I now own a couple of abu,s and lews. These are still one of my favorite reels. Just replaced the trios handles as they are all wobbly and wore out, reels still fine. I fish about 50 weeks per year.
  2. I must have been lucky too? Two cherokee,s two grands and one comanche all in excess of 350,000 . One at almost 400,000 in my family that I maintained without a major failure [eng, trans ,etc] If only they did not rust out before wearing out.
  3. They were 200.00 breathable stocking foot waders.
  4. This set of waders had never been used. They have been rolled up setting in a closet. Both sets leaking all through the seems . Are they worth spending 35.00 for a large tube of aquaseal and coating all the seems.
  5. Bought a pair of entry level of a top brand at the major fishing store, at a clearance price a few years back. Put them in my closet for backup when my others fail. Leaked first time out. Sent both sets in [same waders] leaking at seems . Brand says by manufacture date ten years old life of wader. I informed them never worn stored in closet. Thinking of buying large tube of aquasil and coating all seems or throw out or as some have advised take back to store and complain. Large tube aquasil pricey but so were the waders. Also would it fix the seems.
  6. President, mgx and patriarch . All have the same problem when steelhead fishing? Change brands? Repair?
  7. Have a president xl a supreme mgx and a patriarch . Upgrade to the mgx for twenty dollars. Smoother better reel. All are on my steelhead rods and the mgx would be my first choice.
  8. I try to buy u.s made products if possible . Six stcroix, five loomis and one sage , all u.s. built. Also mcoy fishing line.
  9. I do a lot of trout fishing oct. to april. If not using a fly rod number one choice little jake spoon. Black with yellow dots or gold with red dots. Rattle spoon and eco pro spinners[like a panther martin except heavier]. Panther martin and joes flys with split shot to get out farther or little cleo's. The little jake is my favorite. Icut the trebble hook off and put on a number two barbless hook as I only catch and release.
  10. The wiper trans arm came off or the drive at that arm has stripped. Check has arm come loose, moves , etc. One motor runs both arms. Last wiper trans [linkage] I replaced cost about 100.00 dollars for a ford at nappa.
  11. Our family we have had five jeep vehicles exceed three hundred to three hundred fifty thousand miles each without a major part failure. Towing hauling etc. Some lasting twenty years before failure due to rust in michigian. All were runing in the end. They rusted out before they wore out.
  12. Rugged sharks. They have slip on or lace up [Bill Dance] also sandals . They are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. About eighty dollars. I have never been able to wear sandals, feet hurt. Their sandals I can wear all day fishing. They beat everything else I own , born timberlin ,vans and fivenine.
  13. Had to make some hard choices this week. Do I fish for trout or walleye? Went with trout for more social distance? Did not fish today. Heavy rain and wind. Do I buy gas now or later? Priced at 1.59 at the truckstop on the eway. Guess I will have to tough it out and go fishing every day. Water must be warming up caught five bass Monday. Just trying to make the best of it.
  14. Field and stream store located one exit south on 131 of exit for d ,r sporting goods. Hit both when in that area.
  15. One Comanche ,two Cherokee, two grand Cherokee,s in our family. All ran well over 300,000 and all ran except one when we let go of them. They lasted about 20 years and rusted out before they wore out. The one that was not running caught on fire. The most expensive part to be replaced was one PCM . The 97 grand made about a dozen trips to the eastcoast pulling a camper through NH,and VT. New owner still driving it.
