  1. I going to try to get them on a jerkbait and hair jig when the temp drops beliw 50°. 2 baits i havent developed any confidence in yet.
  2. Just keep at it. Its fall now so i would target the hottest part of the day. Bass will always be in cover the trick is finding the best cover. Some tips, the best pads will have 3+ feet of water under them. If you have miles of pads i guarantee the bass will be in the deepest pads or in the pads with the deepest water next to them. If you are fishing milfoil or coontail or cabbage look for the cleanest grass, as in grass thats crisp and isnt full of slime and junk stuck in it. Look for the most defined edges with deeper water near but not super steep. You want around a 5 foot depth change not a 20 foot change off the weed edge. Work the edge with a crank bait or a spinnerbait then work it back over with a jig or slither rig 5 to 10 feet into the grass bed and flip back to the edge. I dont fish for 20+ bites a day I fish for 5 This should be a good pattern untill the water temp drops below 50 degrees. And it workes better on lakes with less visibility. On clear lakes you need to find the depth the bass want to be in a weed bed and fish that depth of weeds. Lots of guys do well reeling a chatter bait or a swimbait over big weed flats to find where the bass are holding. Good luck hope you find some lunkers before the ice comes.
  3. Yea medicine is a pike factory just the cost of doing business. They love swim jigs. Try fish lake less pike better bass ratio. I only went to medicine because they were treating fish lake for alum last thursday. Sarah could be a good choice too.
  4. Up here here in Minnesota as long as the water is not hard they're feeding. But mainly in the North country I feel like the light cycle determines feeding far more than temperature.
  5. I'm a big fan his content is pretty much the only stuff I watch on YouTube anymore. The quality of his production the variety of this videos and places he fishes and just the entertainment value
  6. To be honest im not sure color really matters. I've had success with white and chartreuse swim jigs, black blue and and green pumpkin bluegill type patterns. My favorite day in and day out is a green pumpkin with a little orange or yellow.
  7. A big fish up here is a 6 pound fish 21 in and over I'm talking about Largemouth. People think a six pound fish is a trophy fish up here but honestly if you use the right techniques they're not that hard to find. this is not the South these fish are not pressure the same. Find the best cover you can 5 foot of water Plus and fish that jig like crazy around it do not finesse fish if you want an actual big in especially in the fall big Jiggs produce the best fish and numbers up here Most people think I'm crazy especially the people from this area on the site but I've been out five times in the last 2 weeks and I've caught at least a five pound or every day
  8. Find cover with good depth and fish a jig. Pelican is a great lake but finesse fishing will only get you mediocre bites. Find pads find Reeds with wind blowing in on them in Minnesota you got to find the best cover and fish a solid big-sized bait and work work work you will get the big bites. Up here in the fall it's all about fishing a Jag in the best cover relentlessly if you want big fish you can spend the same amount of time chasing small fish and get the same amount of bites Whenever you do do not finesse fish these fish are not pressured there are large amounts of 5 plus pound fish you just need to commit to get in the right bite 3 setups swim jig grass jig 3/4 Oz and a spinnerbait for low light conditions you might even get a topwater bite. If you want numbers you can go out there and do whatever you want but honestly you can catch the same numbers fishing a jig anywhere you find good cover next deep water
  9. Fishing has been great all summer and really good the past couple of weeks. Last night fished the wind at medicine and did pretty well. It was a junk fishing kind of bite fishing a swim jig around reeds, docks and pads. This warm weather has really made patterning fish ez and lots of big bass tight to cover and feeding. Hottest part of the day has been best and jigs have been the deal but a jig is generally the deal for me all season. Tight lines!!!
  10. I was mostly joking I have to admit I have a dry sense of humor. I just figured somebody had to make that statement it might as well be me. In my opinion responsibly harvesting bass helps Fisheries.
  11. The real question is why are you cleaning a bass

  13. Go buy some lead bullet weights 1/4oz 1/2oz watch videos on how to texas rig and the hooks you need. It sounds like you're getting ready to take your first step in actual bass fishing learning about the correct techniques the correct tackle in the right way to fish it is what you need to do. In between this site and places like YouTube you'll be able to start getting results.
  14. I have a 7'6" Duckett ghost and love it. I think you can find them on amazon if you are lucky you might find one for 80 bucks
  15. 20-30' seems like the ideal max range for pitching to me. On average id say i pitch 10to15'.
  16. If you could post a pic of your 2 battries and how they are rigged that would help
  17. Im thinking your batteries arent linked up correctly. There should be a sheet with instructions for three different options of wiring your batteries together for 24 volts. I had that problem then i re wired the batteries and it worked well.
  18. You are just going to have to rig them up. Tou can go the a-jay or the catt route, i prefer Catt's method with the strait shank flipping hook and the weight with the keeper on it but thats elementary. In my humble opinion if you're going to punch grass punch grass all day if you're going to switch your baits don't even try to punch it's not a numbers game if you get five bites flipping grass you had a good day for flipping grass. here's two examples the bottom one is my swim jig punch rig version with a 4ot ewg twist lock hook and the top one is a traditional punch rig with a three quarter ounce tungsten weight with a 4ot tk130. I order my skirts off tacklewarehouse.com from boss jigs.

  22. When i was a kid my best friend and i would catch frogs and take then doun to the lake. Would throw them in the lake betting each other on who's frog would make it to the bank first. They never made it back, so we started fishing with them and caught many bass. Bass like frogs
