I like the carrot stix wild black series. That is probably what I will get. What about a $100 or less spinning reel. I looked at the new okuma inspira and it looks like a good reel. Any others?
I am looking to buy a spinning rod that would mainly be used for soft plastics, drop-shotting, all the finesse stuff like usual. I am looking to spend around $100 but am willing to go a little over. Mainly looking for quality and sensitivity (looks really don't matter to me). thx JD
Unfortunately no pictures. I am a bank fisherman who sometimes forgets his phone back at the resort The spots weren't anywhere as big as coty's but i did catch a pretty good one, he measured in at around 18in and was a pretty chubby fish. 4 of the 5 spots were caught on a jerkbait the other one was caught on that texas rigged trick worm. These were my first spots i had ever caught so i was pretty happy even though these fish weren't particularly big
I just got back today and it was a pretty tough 4 days of fishing. I did try the black buzzbait and that was effective but the most effective and the bait that caught me th most fish was a rapala x-rap jerkbait. I fished it on rocky shorelines and around docks and the fish were nailing it, not just the largies, but the kentuckys were hittin it too! I did try jigs but didn't catch a single fish . Also caught fish on a Texas rigged zoom trick worm but overall only caught 8 fish. 5 of those being kentuckys. Thanks for the great suggestions and helping me catch some fish! Had a ton of fun and can't wait till next year
What's been going on down there lately. Haven't got a chance to get down there in a year or so but got some time to head down this Wednesday thru Sunday. We are staying just south of the village of 4 seasons. What baits are working, what time of day, etc. thx, and tight lines JD
Where are the females in the early to mid stages of the spawn? Went to a lake yesterday and all I caught were tons of small, mid sized males. Are the big females cruising nearby? Any tips on where the mommies are would be greatly appreciated! Thx~JT
Butler and McPherson are the ones that I am really wondering about but really anywhere fish are being pulled out of would be cool also. Went out to Butler last week to fish and I am dissapointed in the fact that the lake has been taken over by crappie. Never been to McPherson but thinking about going sometime this weekend. thx JT
DarrenM, most waters here in kansas aren't very clear although there are a few exceptions. But one of the lakes that I fish has a visibility of about 7-8 ft.
I am an avid bass fisherman with a boat, but I can't quite afford a fish finder yet. I am needing tips or tricks on how to locate grass lines or beds from the deck of my boat without a sonar. I am hoping to get a fish finder soon so maybe some recommendations on fish finders. Please try and keep it under $200. Thx, JT
