  1. For spinnerbait and buzzbaits always and trim skirts back
  2. Sounds like postspawn for sure which is junk fishing time for me. Was out yest. Got 13 but it was like 5 on a sqarebill 4 on a spinnerbait 3 on a buzzbait and 1 on a toad. If the weeds are just below the surface it's perfect for a buzzbait over the top of them especially in low light situations.
  3. I agree with this 100%. When I see these mats out comes the toad rod. Only thing different is I like a big bite baits top toad.
  4. Almost all?
  5. Voted yes but I believe color can matter at times as well regardless of water clarity.
  6. Well that's pretty much along what I would use only thing I could add would be that in situations like that I try to get around shallow weed out of heavy winds. They seem to hold heat a little better.
  7. It's unlikely that the water temp dropped 20 degrees what were you throwing?
  8. I get these every so often. What I do is slip the tip of my needle nose pliers into the loop and try to pry open the loop a little. If the loop opens then just pull on both ends of the line and the knot should pop out. If the loop won't give I just cut and either retie or splice with a uni to uni knot. Also should have said wet the wind knot first.
  9. I just take timer selfies fish in one hand phone in the other. And i always have my phone in the same place at the ready so i don't have to fumble around for it. That being said I'm sure they make suction cup phone holders for cars you could mount in your boat
  10. To easy. Mine is people who think launches are their dogs private waterpark.

    Hot Dogs?

Wow what next ned rigging cocktail weenies
  12. I'll give ya 50 bucks for that crummy old flexing graphite casitas if it's just taking up space
  13. As others said braid and trim the legs only thing I would add is that it might not be anything you can do. I 've been getting alot of strikes on buzzbaits lately and have lost a few on headshakes or pulling off in weeds. As for the ones I've boated several were hooked on the underside of the jaw as if they are swatting at it mouth closed in a sort of territorial defense rather than feeding.
  14. Well there isn't really any deep water just shallow and real shallow. But they will get under or next to anything when the sun is high. So I would go where the cover is. One thing I find in small shallow ponds is that there are more bass than quality holding areas/cover so they can be on anything anywhere
  15. It's about time. And I can't stand the thought of an expansion team from Vegas winning the cup.
  16. All my stuff stays in my truck from April til november. Except when I need make room for someone which I hate to do.
  17. Shallow murky water mid summer sounds like my dream scenario. For me I like to start shallow and then stay shallow. If the waters 'clean' enough pound it with a buzzbait of its weedy a toad or frog.
  18. Yes they do. As far as the other two given the bowling pin sized baits some are throwing I wouldn't be surprised.
  19. Crawfish and frog
  20. I agree with that gotta hit them quick and if you want some 6/0trokars just say the word and they're yours.
  21. When I was using straight shank for punching my strike to land ratio was at best 50% since I switched to ewg grip pins it's at least 90%.
  22. I do this a lot and i don't recall ever losing one because of this although I have lost fish and said myself 'shoulda drilled em again'.
  23. fishing ahead of a t-storm can be fantastic. Also it's a little easier to keep track of these so when I see or hear them I head for the launch. The storms you have to beware of are the 'pop-up' storms as they can literally come out of nowhere as I once found out.
  24. All my texas style rigging is done with mustad ewg grip pin hooks. 4/0 for craws etc. 5/0 for toads 6/0 for punching.
  25. For me it's lipless cranks for sure.
