  1. Been the same up my as as well. Was out today fighting it with gusts over 25 mph. Thought I heard the local weather guy today say this was the windiest stretch since '96.
  2. Got out today 8-4. Fought a wicked wind all day. Caught 16 bass on 7 different lures with the buzzbait bringing the days best to the boat at 5-1. Also got a 3-11 on a spinnerbait.
  3. Not to discount the credit fluro played in his win but talking pros vs. Joes makes me think of that quote (b. Phillips on d. Shula) "he can take his'n and beat your'n and he can take your'n and beat his'n). I think if I was up against this guy or any pro with me throwing fluro all day he still could whip my tail with 100 lb. Braid.
  4. My spinnerbait rod is a 7'mh/f. I also have a 7'2" mh/xf rod labeled as a 'jig' rod that is my do-all (almost) rod that gets the nod if I'm running 2 spinnerbaits. And if need be ill throw one on my 7'3" h/f toad rod.
  5. Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, and a double wide beaver on a punch rig.
  6. I 5hink the crankbait are more of a sunfish looking color scheme not like soft plastics. Still some around if you look.these are made by a guy in n.h.
  7. I haven't as of yet but grabbed a couple 110 black chrome choppos for $7 ea. off Amazon over the winter so I will at some point.
  8. You won't find me ever doing this. To me it seems to defeat the purpose of a trailer hook which is hooking short striking fish. I don't want to give them a reason to short strike my trailer hook.
  9. I'm a little late with this reply but I had this same problem in the past usually with piks and smallies thrashing at the boatside. I have since used a small piece of shrink tubing to seal the gap and haven't lost a blade since. In the picture you can see that the tubing and the blade outlasted the life of the bait. Btw I like the way you make your loops it looks like it would take the tubing better than my hack jobs.
  10. I like a buzzbait and frogs/ toads where I can find pads.
  11. After a kind of miserable april it was nice to finally find some fish up chasing yesterday. Got 22 with most on a spinnerbait including this 4-4
  12. I like 100% deet for my skin. Also I would use permethrin spray on my clothes back when I did canoe/camp trips in maine. Over the winter I bought some fly dope that I'm looking forward to using to ward off black flies in maine.
  13. Wait what? There are other fish besides bass? What the heck for?!?
  14. Just an fyi the 'chu' has been open for a week or so
  15. I have a rule I more or less go by that is: retie after every 3 fish every fish over 3lbs. And every hour even if I don't have a bite.
  16. 40lb. Braid And throw the spinning gear in a wood chipper
  17. Spinnerbait- white Spinnerbait-not white Jig- craw pattern Bladed jig- perch/ bluegill pattern Buzzbait- black
  18. 10 years or 25 it's the same for me Spinnerbait Buzzbait Jig. Also a popper although i rarely use these for largies anymore just smallies.
  19. For single buzzbaits I make (not pour) my own with components from. l.p.o. 3/8oz. Black or chart/ white. For double buzzbaits i use 1/2oz. Buckeye lures double buzz same colors plus white. Also not a fan of the painted blades on these so I swap them out for plain aluminum. And no trailers for no just trailer hooks.
  20. Buzzbaits I'm using a 7' mh/f. For toads [ buzzfrogs] I have a 7'3" h/f.
  21. Uni for everything
  22. Enjoying nature is not possible where i fish so I'm definatly out there to catch. However even if I have a bad day I'm still doing what I want to do with my time so while I may be frustrated I'm never upset.
  23. My frog reel currently has 40lb. Kastking super something yellow braid. If your concerned about color you can color It with a sharpie.
  24. Got out for about 9 total hours between Tues. And. Wed. Landed 10 bass with no big ones however I was happy to get my first 3 buzzbait fish yesterday including this guy.
  25. Not just at the time but of all time in my book.
