  1. He uses a 6th Sense Braid Swim Jig, white, weedguard removed, no trailer. He finds a fish 100 feet out front, waits and flips his cast past the fish, reels it by them slowly and they eat. It's the same presentation he uses with his Alabama rig fishing. It's fascinating to watch and I'm really curious what lives in that lake. Can we see a 20 soon? Is there a 10lb smallmouth?
  2. I like the Duo Kabuki 55 SR on the river, but normally, it's a balsa shallow to mid depth crank like an E1 or similar in summer or like a Hicky or what have you. I really think a flat bait shines in a river setting.
  3. I've used it with varying degrees of success as I normally lean on a more natural hue. My biggest fish on the color was an 18" wiper during a bass tournament digging a DT6 along rip rap in 3 feet or so. I need to throw it more.
  4. 4-4.5" finesse worms, both on a Slider Spider head and a split shot rig.
  5. Leave them in their packaging.
  6. These heads work great!
  7. I guess I'm in the minority in that I loathe casting tackle for flukes. I've used them and caught fish, but I prefer a 7' Ark Tharp Meterman with a Pflueger President XT 30 and yellow 15# Yozuri braid to a 12# T7 leader. Mine get rigged on a Gamakatsu Superline 4/0 spring lock hook.
  8. Pflueger Supreme and an Ark Tharp or Invoker Pro would be my choices.
  9. Pat passed away not long ago. I may or may not have wistfully shed a tear.
  10. For moving baits, use whatever you want. Mine are normally thrown on CX Premium in moss green in 10 or 12lb test. The waters I wade fish a couple times a year are super clear and the fish don't mind.
  11. Same. I toss my jigs on a 7'3 MH and use 15 or 17 fluoro. I forget which.
  12. That's a lipped bait, not a glide. For a true glide, Golden Belt Customs has a 5.5" 1oz bait called the Swather that looks like what you want and it can be thrown on your spinnerbait rod.
  13. When? All year. How? Flats work well in cooler or super hot water. I like to rip cranks out of grass, if it's not that snot stuff. Lipless, early spring and late fall, definitely. Again, rip them, yo yo them, burn them...just throw them.
  14. Yes, same action.
  15. I have 4 of them. 6'10" MM, 7'3" MHF, 6'10" MLXF spin and 7'1" MXF spin. I really like them. The 6'10" MM is a fantastic topwater, jerkbait and finesse swimbait rod.
  16. I have 2 Duo 120s and 2 LiveTargets that are both in the 5" range. I need to give them a shot.
  17. Was definitely me. I am wanting to find more of these to put in a display. I love the body shape. Also, Cliff makes a bait that's very similar to the Z-100, which uses the same body.
  18. Hey guys, crazy question here. I have a Zoom WEC JZ in chartreuse black back and was wondering if anyone can fill me in on colors that were made, possible years they were made and if they were made for the US market. I heard a rumor it was made for the Japanese market. Really any info helps at this point. Here is what I have, but I don't have the box.
  19. I will be working in Des Moines Monday through Thursday, probably nights, but I will have a couple hours each day to fish. The hotel is right by the Raccoon/Des Moines junction and I was looking for guidance to find some river smallies in the nearby area. I'm bank bound and am planning to bring a spinning rod and some soft baits, swimbaits, craws, Neds on 1/10 heads, etc. If you'd rather, send me a PM please.
  20. His normal rate is $1,000 per day. I don't believe he is on Ivie catching these, but I don't know. He's throwing swim jigs and a proto 6th Sense hair jig on 10lb fluoro to do this. I wouldn't dare use a swim jig on 10lb line, but that's just me.
  21. From a local city park pond Memorial Day weekend.
  22. If you can, find a Fakie Dog 90 walking bait. Thank me later. They're insane!
  23. May I ask the source of this info? Are you an employee or executive? I'm okay with a rebranding, as long as quality doesn't change. Went and bought 4 more frogs, 5 more cranks and another jerkbait at another store today, total, $10.
  24. A rebranding? I bought 3 medium depth red squarebills, 1 red flat side, 1 frog and 1 jerkbait tonight for $6.19. I couldn't complain.
  25. Wrong. To remove material, no matter how little, is to weaken the hull. If you fished where I did Saturday, you'd probably paddle back to the put in and say F this place. I floated, well, floated isn't the term. I fished 3.5 miles of an Ozark river that hasn't had significant rainfall in months and I put in right below a dam. I could paddle the first 100 yards, then had to drag, paddled another couple hundred, had to drag. I would guess I drug my boat over a mile across limestone rocks, trees, and river gravel that didn't get my ankles wet. I did, however, take 8th in the tournament we had that day. I looked at my creek boat, a cheap Ascend FS10, and saw a ton of scratches, none deep, and look forward to abusing it more.
