  1. Thanks! Little twins...
  2. First fish on a Spybait!
  3. Awesome 1st of the season fish!
  4. THERE SHE IS!!!..............nope.
  5. I have my 4th Lew's reel on the way! I also recently got one of their "Custom Speed Stick" rods(drop shot spinning) and am extremely impressed. Both are great companies, but the way things are going, it looks like I've found my favorite by far.
  6. I'll be there in June for the Rayovac. I fished the delayed Rayovac in August last Summer on the James and saw another angler pull one of those FL strain monsters out of the Chick (a 7 plus!). There were some big bags coming out of the James!!!
  7. Go weedless! It'll make your time and effort worth while (not to mention saving money on baits). Texas rigged soft plastic, senkos, weedless swimbaits and flukes are awesome. My favorite is a split shot rig with a small 4 inch Texas rigged finesse worm. It's tricky to throw in some areas (it's a long finesse Carolina rig), but is killer from shore! I use a 10 pound braid main line with a 12-18'' 6-8 pound test floro leader, I pinch on a bullet shaped 1/8 to 1/4 ounce split shot above braid to leader knot and use a no.1 strait shank light wire offset worm hook. You can cast it a mile and cover tons of water. Just drag it slowly back to shore and hold on! I fish some golf course ponds in FL and all of the above are productive. Here's a video where I use Texas rigged plastic, and a weedless swimbait from shore... Go get "em!!!
  8. We watch for the dogwoods to bloom around the Potomac! Once it happens, the game is on for everything, especially the striper spawn migration up river...
  9. A weightless fluke or senko are great options. Swimbaits with super light belly weights should get some attention too...
  10. Thanks man! It's a Pelican Bass Raider 10e...
  11. Thanks! It's an awesome lake; I'm sure you'll find some! It's been windy for the past 4 days and today was no exception. I went out again and caught 2 dinks and a pig. I'm uploading the video now...
  12. I just went out yesterday and found the same water temps. just north of you in MD. After about an hour of fishing I started hitting banks with wood cover and started smacking them on a small square bill crankbait. As usual, the bite came on the pause or after the bait deflected off cover. I just uploaded this video of me fishing yesterday on YouTube. If you check out the type of cover I was fishing and the bait I was using, it might give you another option to try if you haven't already. Good luck!
  13. My local lake here in MD has plans to open for boaters this Saturday! It's the latest opening in the lakes history! The lake opened back in the mid 80's...
  14. I may have caught a couple just a tad bigger in FL, but this Potomac River brute and his little buddy were caught nearly back to back. It was late August and it was crazy skinny, but still went almost 8lbs on a light weighing scale. I can't image what it would have weighed earlier in the year... TAGGED FISH TOO! My most memorable day on the Potomac!
  15. DCA!!! Thaw Potomac...Thaw!!! I got 10" at least today!!!
  16. I'm thinking it's going to be a winter pattern unless we warm up good in the next few weeks. Anyone live down that way that can give a report? What's the ice looking like?
  17. That's awesome! I wish I was in FL now!
  18. That's me! Very cool you guessed that!!! How did you??? the cbadra2 or my profile pic??? Thanks for the welcome!
  19. Thanks! Looks like you're near Newport News from what your favorite lake says. My Uncle Bobby lives in Poquoson, VA. The man who changed my life and took me fishing for the first time ever; Robert Austin...named my son...Austin Robert. Crazy mosquitoes down that way!
  20. New member from a snowy/icy/freezing rain-y day in Clarksburg, MD! Man what a winter... Glad to be here!
