  1. Very very nice. Thanks for sharing.
  2. Look at a Hyundai Santa Fe AWD. Good gas mileage too.
  3. Go real slow backing up and put drivers side to dock when you can. Level trailer on hitch.
  4. I have replaced winch, and keel rollers in parking lot with boat tied up in water. I dont feel assured to jack up a 16 foot aluminum with 40hp engine. I am getting ready to do the carpeted bunks and can do that in the parking lot too. Just need to have all tools ready and then some for the unexpected. I go thru routine of remove and replace in my garage/driveway to simulate in my head what must be done first. Hope that helps.
  5. Too expensive.
  6. I sometimes go to estate sales where there is fishing rods, tackle, etc., and yo ucan find some vintage stuff. Though, if you dont get there early, most good stuff is gone.
  7. Field and Stream opened in Detroit area a couple of years ago on edge of a major mall. Spring sidewalk sale for clothes is real good pricing. Inside hunting is larger than fishing, but, some good fishing gear selections. Not as much choice as BPS in my opinion, but nice to have another player nearby and better than sister company Dicks. Cabelas is putting a store in the Detroit area and Gander Mountain is going out of business here. BPS is 20 mins up the road. Like all big box stores, prices come and go thru the seasons and scheduled sales.
  8. I watched most of it. Asked some questions but had to work too. Definitely will watch more.
  9. Dorado and all.....I agree. Same boat, same issues. I too have sworn off new baits. May need to replace some tackle, but NO baits. I want a newer boat and SHE wants the cottage. A couple more years till retirement so I might have to sell some of the gear to grab some money for a new garden hose. LOL
  10. I have down imaging from a Lowrance Elite 5 HDI with sonar and image overlay. However, now almost 4 years later, I like the option of down imaging with sonar AND side imaging. I like the new MEGA-hertz Hummngbirds and the Ray Marine units. At least a bigger unit for me than 5 inches I have now. Though, it is always a money factor too. See them in person. Go to the marina and ask a fellow boater if you can take a look at his and what he likes and doesn't like. Better yet if you can check it in usage on the water. In the stores it is just a static or demo display. Read reviews. Good luck.
  11. Wow. I have never read your bios until now in early 2017. What a wonderful group of mods and members. I can tell you I left another "forum" here in Michigan because of the spam, and fighting, and the moderator just gave up. There was more posts under Politics than the Water. Glenn, God bless you for your efforts. You are a sincere and genuine gentleman. I started looking at Bass Resource years ago but did not join until a little while back. I am glad I did. I love your videos and the members here are great. Thank you for this wonderful site and I hope a TV show is near. Bob
  12. My personal experience is having sonar on starting battery and trolling motor definitely on its own deep cycle battery. Though, I typically turn off sonar once I am on a spot. Realistically my Lowrance Elite 5 HDI does not consume too much. Good luck.
  13. Awesome. Real nice finish.
  14. Great read. Thanks. Got me visualizing more while 25F outside. ?
  15. Lake St Clair is still 46 degree temperature. Though, they are catching many perch along the shorelines in areas. Some walleye, and a few small mouth. Open water everywhere. Might as well go to Florida and fish some sea bass and grouper.
