  1. I have always picked my cranks to run close to a foot deeper than what the water depth is. I have 12lb,15, and 17lb to help with this, but my question is If you drive over a spot and the bass are at let's say 10ft and the water is 16ft deep. Do you cast one to run 10ft so it stays in their face. I hear all the time you won't catch many if your not going deep enough to make contact with the bottom.
  2. I just returned from ky lake from a 3 day pratice. Went on April 28-30. Water was around 65-67 and I fished probably 20 hours on buck brush and mustard grass. Caught 2 that was 14in. Last day with 20 mins left I went to a 18ft hump that dropped to 25ft and caught a 5 1/2 no eggs no red marks. I'm thinking they have alrdy spawned or the big ones atleast because I never even saw fish take off or catch any on the banks. Suppose to be a full moon Sunday with temps in the 80's for a few days. I have a tournament on Tuesdays there. Should I just go to the hump I caught that 5lb on and graph it and fish or go to shallow banks in the mourning of the tournament. I fished 1 hump and caught one keeper and had to leave. I live 4 hours away so I can't practice again until the tournament.
  3. Tnx for the reply well give it a shot
  4. My local lake has some weird grass/weeds that grows in the water about 4-5 feet off the bank. It gets about 1 foot high and is thick. I win my local touraments flipping senkos and jigs next to it. Right now its flooded and the grass is just laying dead on top of the water with water behind the grass since the shore is flooded. There are open pockets in the grass but it doesn't grow in anything thats deeper than a few feet. I saw about 10 bass in one of the pockets a few days ago when the sun was out but spooked them when I casted on them. ( can you punch that stuff since its so shallow.) My 3/8 jig almost goes through it. I was thinking of next time trying a 1/2 bitsy bug jig or peg some sort of heavier tungston. Would a heavy weight in 2 ft of water scare the fish thouhh .
