  1. I'm new but was wondering when someone would realize I'm awesome. Lol
  2. I live on Cinnamon lake and fish it a lot. I no longer have a bass boat but when I did I fished lake Erie, West Branch and Alum Creek. I would take my bass boat out in lake Erie with four footers and people looked at me like I was nuts. That's what a bilge pump is for. It is an over looked largemouth lake. Great largemouth fishing.
  3. I like Shimano so going to see if I can get my old Chronarch fixed somewhere.
  4. I have the same rod and it works great for DT4's but just OK for a DT6.
  5. Lol. I was going with the trusted Shimano Chronarch but decided to get another Less. I will post pics when the rod and reel arrive next week. I could have got a glx for $50.00 more but tried to be practical and I'm sure the IMX will be great.
  6. I was fishing in Alabama from the bank. I noticed a male and female on the bed. I stood back and threw a twin tailed lizard and slowly reeled it into the nest. The male must have picked it up and spit it out 30 times. I finally caught him and was surprised he weighed around four pounds and seeing him in the water I thought he was more like two pounds. I then knew the female was a pig. I kept throwing and when she took it I let her swallow it and she swam away from the bed about 15 yards before I dropped the hammer on her. She was 8 pounds 10 ounces and is on my wall at home. I never thought that it was wrong but rethinking it all now and probably should have left her alone. She is my biggest from the lake I was fishing but there have been 12 pounders caught out of the lake so there are definitely larger bass still.
  7. Im originally from Vestavia. Welcome aboard. I just signed up also.
  8. Thank you!
  9. I just went thru the same thing and ended up getting an IMX cheap off of ebay. If money is not an issue than to me its a no brainer and I would go NRX.
  10. True, but excited to try the new one out. I've heard it is much better than the GL2.
  11. I have a friend of mine that is selling a Daiwa Steez rod and reel for $550.00 or $350.00 for the Steez reel. If anyone is interested then let me know and I will put you in contact with him. Both the rod and reel are approximately 4 years old.
  12. I just bought a gloomis IMX JWR rod and a Lews Tournament Pro to go on it. I have a GL2 but this is my first nicer gloomis. Cant wait to start slinging lures with it. I got them both for $394.00 shipped.
  13. I have been eating smaller bass for 42 years and it is pretty good. Not walleye good but good. Just lightly bread it and fry it.
  14. I use my gloomis imx jwr jig and worm rod to flip with but a true flipping rod will be stouter and longer as mentioned. You can get away will using a jig and worm rod especially if it is a med/heavy or heavy rod.
  15. I have not tried the Pline you are asking about but have used pline for 14 years and like it.
  16. I have one Lews Tournament pro reel and just bought another one brand new from Ebay for only $148.00 shipped.
  17. I haven't used that one yet but own two Lews Tournamnet Pro's and love them.
  18. I just bought a gloomis imx jwr in med/heavy that I plan to use for jigs and non weighted plastic worms. Its all about setting your reel and you wont have a problem.
  19. I have never seen or fished with an Ike rod but he is a great guy. A friend of mine is a BASS planner and had Mike call me one night. It was several years ago right before the Three Rivers tournament and he was very down to earth and good guy to talk to. He even talked to me about his strategies for the tournament.
  20. I've been bass fishing since I was 5 years old in Alabama. I'm passionate about bass fishing and bow hunting. I own an archery shop and hunt and shoot competitively but when the weather breaks I'm bass fishing. I have fished a lot of different states for bass and thought I would join this forum to learn more and help others when I can.
