  1. Since it's shaped like a horseshoe, I'd fish it with Colts hoodie on.
  2. NICE! That's gonna be hard to beat.
  3. I think we will eventually replace it with plywood, I like the way it looks better plus the weight and spacing issues. But, we had that scrap lumber on hand and decided to follow the redneck code...build it with a chainsaw, deck screws, and duct tape.
  4. Thanks, half the fun is working on it and adding upgrades. The deck was suprisingly good. I was a little nervous about weight since it's made of 2X4's and pressure treated planks, but worked like a champ.
  5. Thanks! It's got a little way to go, but it's getting there.
  6. Sweet, I'm going to try that next time. I actually have a pack of weighted wacky hooks I've never used.
  7. I hope he shows back up, learned a lot from his posts. He knew what he was talking about, both fresh and salt water.
  8. Here is an updated pic with the new paint. I know the trolling motor is on the wrong side of the boat. That's because the tournaments we will be entering are "electric only", so we're basically limited to trolling motors. The next one will be mounted on the front. And here's one if the home made deck. The deck is 5 1/2' by 2 1/2'. It's made of 2X4's for the brackets and pressure treated planks for the floor. You'll notice on either side of the deck a gap about 6-7" wide, I'm planning on making a bracket to fit tackle boxes in (they already fit but they slide around).
  9. Here's one for ya. Imagine you're in a box, the box is in space. Now in the box, in space, you are on a bassboat. In the box, in space, on the boat you are fishing. Now you can do this because, in the box, in space, on the boat, fishing for bass, you are on a lake with both peacock bass and smallmouths. Now you have that mind picture imagine a huge lever with a pulley flips the entire box upside down. Are you in the box, in space, fishing off the boat, for both peacock bass and smallmouths flipped upside down also, or since there is zero gravity in the box in space, only the box moves?
  10. I know Elaz-Tech plastics are insanley more durable than normal plastic, but they float. Do they pack them with enough salt to make them sink?
  11. I'll have to try that, how well do they skip? That's one reason I like throwing weightless wacky worms, I can skip them under docks and trees very easily.
  12. If I were you (and since I have this problem on a somewhat routine basis ) I would get all my sponsors, sit them around a big conference table, and hire a live auctioneer to see who gets to have their logo on your jersey.
  13. No Sir, a Spanky is not a Senko. Even though I've been using Spankies. Due to the Spanky being a little obscure in comparison to the Senko, and since they basically do the same thing with the same problems (fragility) I just said Senko, instead of getting the what's a Spanky, question
  14. I am really new to fishing Senkos (well I really use the Lunker City Spanky, but it's basically the same thing). I've been forcing myself to use more finesse techniques, with pretty good success. But, a Spanky only will only produce one mabye two fish on average. So my two questions are... 1.How many fish do you catch per Senko? 2.Do you use anything to make them last longer? Like "O" rings or tape?
  15. Those look awesome. The middle color would be a killer around here.
  16. Rods: More Carrot Stix Reels: More Daiwas Lures: Bully Wa 2 frog, LiveTarget Hollowbody Sunfish, and the smaller Spro Rats. Techniques: Finesse...regrettably.
  17. Haven't been able to test the Outboard, the lake we went to was an "electric only". Hopefully it gets the test soon. But, everything on it looks OK on it, it looks pretty "clean" for it being an antique, so we'll see. Just a 30lb. thrust trolling motor made it go at a decent clip, so having a 10hp 15hp 20hp ?? gas engine on it would make it fly. As for the name I have officially entered "Lolly Pop" in the running.
  18. ^Thank you fellers. Got the new paint job slapped on, a trolling motor, the deck finished, and (most importantly) put a TW sticker on it. I was FINALLY able to get it out today, and it was suprisingly water tight. It's so much better than a kayak, it's not even funny. I even broke it in with it's first fish. Pretty good day, even though it was a freezing 50 something degrees.
  19. It is OFFICIALLY the most wonderful time of the year.
  20. Yup, it's a little skinny for the glue factory.
  21. One thing that really helps with hook-up ratios is adding a Lake Fork frog stinger hook. They are on TW for 5 bucks, they are VERY weedless, and they don't mess with the action.
  22. Cool question, my first instinct is braid. But for the long term I would get a variety of lines tie weights to them and hang them from the ceiling and let them sit for a while. See what works best.
  23. The BPS "Zombie Apocolypse Fish Tank" has been a children's favorite for years...I just wish they would stop selling the dead fish to Captain D's.
  24. Depending on what size and particular swimbait you are talking about, but you could get away with a M-MH rod for some swimbaits around 5-6". You could probably throw the 5" Bullshad or 6" Bullherring on something you probably already have like a 7' Medium rod. It may not be ideal, but it will work until you decide whether or not you want to invest in a swimbait specific set-up.
