  7. Nice! Good luck and tight lines
  8. I am in the exact same boat as you. Recently i was gifted a used but well taken care of president over the forum, while i simutanesouly ordered my self a new uglystick gx2 in 6'6 medium. i wanted it in 6 foot but made a happy accident when i ordered a 6'6. i havent been able to fish because the ice hasnt melted yet but i have been doing a lot of backyard casting and it seems to be a great rod. And no matter what brand people use they can all probably tell you that you really cant go wrong with an uglystick. The reel also perfroms great on it too, super smooth, nice drag. Good luck!
  9. Does anyone have a favorite or go to lure that they use? Mine would be and original floating rapala in "silver" and firetiger. Or a hula popper or jitterbug in a frog color. Seems nothing can really match a rapala since they are very life like and swim great in the water. And topwaters are so fun to fish and produce great numbers.
  10. Woops, posted this in the wrong section. i will repost it in the tackle forum

  12. strike king bitsy minnow... the only squarebill I own hehe
  13. I don't even really use a backpack, if I do, I put my tackle box in it for much easier walking, becuase my main spot is a reservoir that I only bank fish when I'm there. But you could maybe buy a bigger bag to fit more tackle. A military surplus bag that you can order off of eBay or buy at an army-navy store that could hold a lot would probably be great for your situation. If you want to keep the bag you have now, try to put you plastics in ziploc bags and label them so that way you can squeeze the air out if them and roll them up so they are only as thick as all the plastics rolled together, and you aren't wasting space with the original bags that have stiffer and larger plastic that you can't really fold as well. Just my 2 cents
  14. some very good points
  15. I was thinking today if you fish a lure that imitates something that doesn't live there, will bass still hit it? Around my local lakes and ponds we have sunnies and minnows swimming around mainly (worms, lizards and grubs too) but if I threw a rage craw or a shad rap would they hit it? I've never seen any crawfish or shad in the shallows. I usually see crawfish up north in the state on an unnamed smallmouth hotspot. Also I noticed how long some of these plastic worms are. Some of the curly tail worms bassinisaddicting sent me are pushing 10-12 inches. When you go to a tackle shop and buy a can of dmf nightcrawlers the longest they are is maybe 5-6 inches. How many worms are actually a foot long? I know big bait=big fish but this stuff seems excessive... Also some big fish have been caught on small stuff too.
  16. Try to hit them with a lizard or a bluegill or pumpkinseed imitator like a shallow diving crank bait or a swim bait to get the reaction strike. A spinnerbait is also said to work well on bedding bass.
  17. very detailed thanks. reading up these are good for big prespawn females when you fish in deep water that is next to shallow water. (a cove) This is the main reason why i bought them, and bigger is better in prespawn. all the bass want to do is EAT
  18. Thank you very much means a lot to come from everyone. Wish there would be just as many kind people outside of bass resource
  19. Bought 2 real image swimbaits off of cabelas. They came in today, does anyone have experience fishing these? Seem to best most affordable swimbait, only about $5 each. Both in pumpkinseed color
  20. some people just dont have any morals or care about anything. It will catch up to them one day.
  21. So, if any of you saw or read my thread on the best bang for your buck spinning reel, Jon, otherwise known as bassin is addicting, sent ME a near perfect Pfleuger President 6730, for NO CHARGE. He shipped it last week on 2-day but it was delayed and I received it on Tuesday the 11th. When I opened the box and unwrapped the paper, I nearly peed myself. Not only did he send me the reel, at least over $100 in tackle or more was sitting in the box. This package included, a TON of Soft plastics, crankbaits, Jigs, shakey heads, hooks, topwater frogs, a spinnerbait, split shots, sinkers. Most of them were pre rigged too. Not to mention, he messaged me updating me on order status as if i was ordering from cabela's or bass pro. He is risking not having an extra rigged reel for a tournament hes is fishing this weekend, to send ME, a 14 year old he doesn't know at all, a FREE Spinnning reel And tackle. I would like to say once again to Jon, I thank you very much for this. You have helped me out a lot, saved me a BOATLOAD, and i use capitals for emphasis, a BOATLOAD of money that i do not necessarily have a lot of to be spending. You are a great guy to do this, I hope the good lord will return you good doing 10-fold. If any one else is seeing this definetly leave a props to this guy in the comments or a good note in the flea market section section for him. Very much deserved for a selfless act. I can't thank you enough Jon!!!!!!!
