Here's one no bigger than 1.5 lbs i pulled on an orange/black wacky worm the other day. I saw some beds too, but only a few small bass on the beds. I know the bigger ones are somewhere. The only way i seem to be catching them right now is on wacky worms, with some hits and misses on frogs. what are you guys throwing right now, and where are you finding them/any patterns? thanks.
Hey guys.
2 days ago I fished the NHIAA High School Bass Fishing tournament out of Lees Mills on Lake Winnipasaukee. I saw a few of you talking about it, so I decided I'll post and give a little bit of my insight on this lake. There's one place that you should fish on this lake according to me; 10-20 feet deep humps. I nailed 5 of them hopping a PB&J Mini Mop jig off the bottom with a Rage Craw trailer. My best for the day was the 4.33 lb LM, she didn't show her face until right next to the boat . Second biggest bass in the tournament, by 0.10 pounds. My partner and I finished 6th, which qualifies us for the finals on Winnisquam next Saturday! Another thing to point out would be to fish greens basin. All 7 of our fish were caught there. You will catch fish there. Happy fishing guys, keep those lines tight and wish me luck next Saturday.
Great weekend for smallies up in Vermont. They were destroying the frog. Best 2, first went 3.76 on the frog and second went 2.94 on a wacky rigged worm.
Went out yesterday, got 4 fish. 2 bass and 2 pickerel, nothing big at all, I'd say 1.5. But, I tried a new bait that worked for me, the swim jig attached here. Dragged it through milfoil patches and that's where that bass was just hiding out in there. Caught an even smaller one dropping a wacky rigged red shad Yamamoto 5" senko down next to the milfoil.
What is everyone else having luck with?
Top water popper hit today! Had about 5 or 6 more swipes at my popper but they all missed until this girl came along. Shallow pocket on this lake, and I saw beds too which surprised me. Maybe this was a bedding bass. Can anyone estimate the weight of this one?
Any recommendations for spots today? I need to catch fish! Looking for southern NH places, Nashua, Hollis, Brookline, Milford, Mason, Ringe, Wilton, Lyndeborough, New Ipswich, Peterborough, Temple, Jaffrry, Greenville, Francestown, etc.
I fished the Nashua river and Mill Pond for around 3 hours yesterday... The water is still so cold but today in the 70's should warm it up nicely... We also headed over the New Wilton Reservoir and my friends dad actually landed a fat little pickerel... I was just happy to see a fish yesterday and wet my line! Things should start picking up in the next few weeks! Good luck everyone!
