  1. Hunting related; a play on the actual definition and my philosophy on bird hunting., specifically waterfowl. Always have a well trained dog, and no pump guns.
  2. Hopefully you're on the water by now, but my advice is to cross over to the east bank, and follow it down to the dam, then cut across to the main dam point to head back to the ramp. Tight lines!
  3. 1/2 oz. White spinnerbait. Now I can't tell you the last time I tied one on.
  4. Yeah, ya have to super glue the harness in, mend it doesn't bond to the metal well, then seal it back up with mend it. I use Bioedge shad scent wand for "lube".?
  5. Huddleston grass minnows arrived super quick! (People always complain about Huddleston shipping and customer service. I have to be honest, I have never had a problem.).
  6. Ditto here. I on the other hand have not hit the lake yet. ☹
  7. Nice pic, definitely bridge/roadway. Whew, though, water is still chilly.
  8. Case plastics Buzzin' Frog, or a 3:16 No Bull Frog for a larger presentation.
  9. There's a good cold water/winter kayak fishing vid. Guy is river fishing for smallie, but in it he comes across a crayfish. He shows how absolutely, and I mean almost imperceptible a craw moves in winter. Puts it in perspective how slow you should be fishing. *Appears roughly half way through vid if you want to skip ahead.
  10. Interesting story about the lake that I never knew...http://www.theintell.com/life-style/local-feature/village-beneath-the-waves/article_b39ba844-9232-5f55-886e-dff40ab1ddbc.html
  11. Mattlures Hardgill.
  12. I don't think there is anything "roomier" than a Hobie PA, other than the new Native Titan. Others mentioned good choices, I'll add Ocean Kayaks Big Game Angler II that is also 34" wide. Budget options like the Ascend F 128t or H12 are others to consider. Good luck, and demo as much as possible.
  13. No, but maybe just as effective.
  14. You live along the best smallie stretches of the river all the way down to Easton, and the Lehigh. Those fish don't care that it's cold.
  15. Little late to this post., but I've had success fishing from the Iron bridge to covered bridge stretch. Couple holes that hold fish, but here are the current schedules. Fishing is usually prohibited, but I use this as a good mark to head the Big D, where the Tohickon comes in, fish just love stockers. http://fbweb.pa.gov/stocking/TroutStockingDetails_GIS.aspx
  16. The first spillway you are technically not allowed to fish. Never stopped anyone. I've taken my toon in a couple of times, mostly a carp and catfish hole, with the occasional good fish. The next hole, after the second spillway is the same way.
  17. Typically a jerkbait, glidebait, or Hudd.
  18. Depends on the craw, mostly ewg(weighted and unweighted), sometimes a weedless wide gap finesse hook.
  19. Anyone happen to see the DCNR just provided new contour maps for The Nock, and many other lakes across the state for free download? Suppose to take into account silting ect...http://www.dcnr.state.pa.us/topogeo/publications/pgspub/openfile/index.htm#ofmi
  20. Yes. Just a little joke. When I lived in CO, we used to joke about the "Mighty Platte River"..."A mile wide, but just six inches deep." Compared to it, The Big D is a great resource, we are lucky to have her.
  21. Welcome, Perkasie here. If you ever want, I'm 3 minutes from Nockamixon, but fish the "Big D" around Milford a lot, especially during NJ, and PA trout stockings.
  22. Sheesh!...so much for being "the fish of a 1000 casts"! ?
  23. I personally don't use a leader, mainly because I'm lazy, just accept the occasional loss, but this might be an option if it's a big problem for you.
