  1. I stopped in the first time since the pandemic 2 weekends ago to our local shop, and will be stopping in again. They redid the shop and many of the prices aren't nuts like they used to be. They even added a premium bass bait section with Megabass, etc. Dropped around 40 bucks which didn't get me in trouble at home so all is good.
  2. I generally get 10 rods in that carried in that carrier with the standard rod sleeves on them with no issues for years. Sounds like you do have good luck with the neopreme sleeves then.
  3. I have aquired one or two of these as free add ons to orders and am wondering if they would damage a rod is bounced around in a boat during travel in the carry tube below? https://planomolding.com/products/guide-series-airliner-telescoping-rod-tube-458800?variant=40468034355360 My concern was that the material is too heavy and would cause damage so I haven't used them.
  4. It has been a while now since I have been a new poster, but with what happened on the tackle forumwhere a new poster trashed a store and insulted many members on the forum leading to restrictions on the thread. Do new accounts currently have their initial posts moderated? As much of a pain as it might be would that help the situation or was this a one off? Not sure what others thoughts are? Also didn’t see an obvious place to post this.

    40%!

I might look into this. I use the manual kind in the boat to track fish caught and lures used on vacation. I have actually used that data to somewhat defeat the bait monkey and keep my purchases focused on what works. I know you mention long casts. Are these just long casts on a flat or bomb casts to a target? If it’s in the general area of the target it makes a lot of sense, but yeh like others said maybe a reaction thing if just covering a flat. If the latter is the case maybe the startup which always looks awkward to me with a plopper seals the deal? Wonder if it has anything to do with the plopper briefly stating sub surface? Maybe it’s my style but the first little bit doesn’t have the plop retrieve if you know what I mean?
  6. Has anyone else been monitoring the Lurenet site for good deals? There appear to have been some but the site has been some but the site has been super glitchy for me and I am afraid I missed some deals. Have I missed any War Eagle deals? I scored big time last year with their war eagle day. Would have bought the 2.99 Booyah/Xcal XCS square bills but I still have 20 from when they were reintroduced at the same price.
  7. I am so on the fence hoping I can pick up a Kaden for a better deal. Tempted to grab the Kaden I want and then try a Maverick that is one step heavier for like 212. Or do I just grab 2 kadens? Spending a bunch more money to jsut save an extra 5% seems kind of dumb though.
  8. The same issues as the 3600 box, just not as bad. I noticed it too, but could tilt them enough to make it a non issue. I found numerous videos on it. Oddly none mentioned the 3600 size.
  9. That is pretty much what I do in a standard 3700 box as well. Since mine are 90% swim jigs I just separate by weight. While they aren't as nicely organized, visually at least, I actually fit more jigs in this way and have space left over for slider heads and shakey heads. This makes me wonder why I bought the jig box since I apparently already had a good solution. I am a bit of an organization geek, so the Edge jig box definitely looks nice when packed well, just not the most efficient use of space.
  10. I have been using that pen one for a while and the one thing I like about it is I know the exact placement of the material to get the skirt the way I want it. It just can be a pain to get the skirt bands on the tool is the only downside so it is a bit slower to work with. I did order a C ring pliers so we will see how that works out. Only downside unlike the specific tool, it doesn't lock in place with the band open.
  11. I am curious with all the complaints I saw on you tube about the 3700 jig box and even on some forums, the only thing I can figure is that nobody actually complained to Plano, or very few, and Plano doesn't track social media. If that would have taken place there is no way they would have made the 3600 box shorter. Getting pros input is somewhat garbage because they burn through tackle at a different rate then the people they are actually selling the boxes too.
  12. One item from Cabela’s and the rest from a local shop. Trying some new to me Ned baits, really didn’t need more, and the double spin musky bait is tied on a wire cable instead of solid wire. Will be interesting to see how that works.
  13. My question is has anyone ever ordered from Zeiner’s or the Living Rubber sites? I am giving this to my parents to order for Christmas and want to make sure these sites are ok. My go to sites Barlows, LPO, and Fishing skirts don’t carry it.
  14. Just curious where you would get the Kayser The Skirt Factory Tool Tom mentioned. All the sites I find mentioned are ones I haven’t heard of before.
  15. My river combo ugly stick and whatever cheap spinning reel I have laying around isn't what you are looking for, but that parabolic action does keep the big smallies locked down really well. If I took a more expensive rod out there, it would be my medium 6'9" dobyns sierra 693, but for you the 6''9" medium light 692 would work better. Both are very nice rods and I pair them with a black and red Shimano Sienna 2000 (great reel for the price). You could go with any reel in that size. While the rod is rated fast, Dobyns have a bit softer tip. Dobyns Sierra deals can usually be found during black Friday or even the TW 25 days sale. I paid under 100 for one and 129ish for the other. Too bad St Croix doesn't sell the blemished rods online as there are some gems. I got a legend tourney inshore MH spin for 230 for heavy cover. Problem is the stock varies and so does the pricing so its not like you can go in expecting to find a medium premium rod super cheap.
  16. I may stick with the 5 till I give them a go next year. I am attempting to show some restraint. If they work than I will build up some more. Fly tying taught me it is really easy to over buy.
  17. I will be seeing a a pack of 5 1/8 ounce guppy frames along with 50 1/4 and 20 1/2 ounce frames under the Christmas tree this year. Building spinnerbaits is an addiction, but they really seem to wack them better than store bought. This is my first LPO order and I got an order from fishing skirts today mostly to replicate the dirty jigs purple haze skirt. Hoping I am set for a while;) The baby Stanley’s should give me a good reference to build them out. My first 1/4 spins the wire length and blade spacing was similar to the War Eagles.
  18. Yup for bass. Have used 3/16 and 1/4 ounce spins for bass for years. Got my PB 21” fall smallie on a 1/4 ounce war eagle. Wife got a 40” pike too, they work great. Been making my own now with frames similar to war eagles from Barlows and Lurepartsonline.
  19. Also very affordable. I have been doing well with 3/16 and 1/4 spins in reed beds for years. Most 1/2 ounce spins the catch rate is about a third of the lighter baits. Thought I might drop down a little lighter and smaller and see how they work.
  20. I do dtand corrected on the mini king, it does come in three bleeding bait colors as a dual willow and I may even have one at home.
  21. The bummer is that they are both single blade spins. I do have 5 1/8 ounce frames I will set up, I was just hoping for some double willow or Colorado examples to work from. For that matter a google search gave me the 1/8 weight for the Stanley, for all I know it could be 3/16.
  22. Looking to add some 1/8 ounce spins to try next year, because apparently I need to carry a 3rd spinnerbait box;) Seriously though looking for some to see if they get more bites than the 1/4 ounce baits I have been tossing. The Stanley Baby spinnerbait so far is the only one on my list.
  23. I am surprised that the brand push bothers people. I always watched shows and you tube videos and figure out how to apply the knowledge they are giving me while pushing brand X spinnerbait or crank, and then I will apply that knowledge with brands a, b, and c of similar baits I own. 2 examples are KVD and SK baits and the Linders and Rapala lures. Just because KVD uses SK spins, my opinion is very low of those baits, doesn't mean I don't listen to the tips and tricks he has for them. For that matter even random folks posting you tube videos are going to only use baits they are comfortable with in their videos. Do folks skip past those because they don't use that specific bait they are showing in the video? Maybe growing up watching auto racing has me numb to this where the first 10-30 seconds of the interview is sponsor blah, blah, blah, and finally that jerk walled me lol.
  24. No idea who answered the email, but just from looking at a picture of the skirt from TW they knew the colors, I was impressed . Not sure if they supply for some of the manufacturers or not. I will for sure save money this way instead of buying the 5 packs of skirts at a buck a skirt.
  25. So I emailed them a question this morning with a picture of the skit I am aiming to replicate and tweak and on a Sunday they got back to me within 45 minutes confirming the color is correct and included what the other color was in the skirt. will be doing an order tonight, just wish shipping was a little lower, but seeing what we are dealing with shipping cost wise at my work I understand.
