  1. thank you very much smalljaw67 for your time and in convincing me to go ahead and take the plunge with them in the bass world. i think I'm going to go with the 7' mh f casting rod and I'm still on the fence whether go with either the 6'9" or the 7" ml spinning rod.
  2. hey turtle 135 thanks for your insight i to have a 2012 model ride 115 and just bought the high rise seat that came standard in the 115x and i liked it but not as much as a native ultimate seat i used a while back. so now i see this seat and i want to instantly buy it but at 350 and change yeah i don't wanna waste more money and at that point ill have 3 seats for one yak hahaha. aceman387 i feel your pain about the ice we've had below zero for about 2 weeks now oh the joys but i look forward to your review on it even if you just pm me thanks. and as far as the atak goes minus the price tag it seems to be going after the jackson cuda yak which is pretty nice i just hope that wilderness systems keeps up on the quality doesn't sacrifice being the front of the class for the super durability that i have come to love out of them.
  3. hahaha thanks for the specifics do you care to embellish at all?
  4. I've looked at these now more than a dozen times, i have a fen wick rod for steelhead center pinning and love it. But for whatever reason haven't been able to take the plunge with either of the spinning or casting rod. What i would use the spinning rod for is primarily light weight grubs and fines plastics, maybe some tubes so this would basically double as a smally rod as well. the casting rod i need a good texas rig and jig rod not into heavy cover with either. so tell me are these worth taking the plunge on?
  5. not to high jack this thread but has anyone used the new wilderness systems seat the air pro max they came out with i have a ride 115 and love it but the seat kills me, any thoughts or info would be great.
  6. why shouldn't i use braid on my non moderate action rod? i already have the fifty pound braid on the moderate action rod for my topwater so then what your saying is i should look into a good mono or co polymer line for my jerk bait set up on the medium fast action rod? any suggestions on line for that then I've always been trilene fan mainly because of the cost to actual performance you get out of the lines. and why shouldn't i use braid on a fast action rod? I have it on my one med/heavy fast action jig rod and haven't had any problems yet?
  7. all thats really good advice guys, thanks. so is braid alright to use on my top water, i started out using trilene xl mono and then switched to their braid 50 pound am in the ball park on that or should i switch it up?
  8. how about for throwing a buzz bait?
  9. keep it as a top water rod?
  10. ok so here is the dilemma I'm facing I'm trying to revamp my rod line up. my original jerk bait/ top water rod was a 7' medium weight moderate action carbonlite rod but after using it A) i find that the rod is a touch to long for me and I'm starting to wonder if the moderate action is to week. Now for a reel i have 6.4-1 bps pro qualifier with 50 lb braid on it. So to fix the problem i went out and got a team diawa t medium fast action 6'6" rod and was going to put the same reel and line on to that rod for both top water and jerk baits. so the question i have is would it be smart to turn my medium moderate action rod into a square bill rod or keep it as a either a top water buzz bait rod. any feed back is appreciated thanks a bunch
  11. ok thats actually a very valid point because i know myself hahaha i never just keep it simple and stick with the size i say i will. i live in new york and 6lber is big for the lakes i fish. but having two rods is that much extra gear to have hahaha not that its a problem. so what rods do you guys think i should consider then?
  12. i don't know how many large swim baits i would thro to really warrant a really heavy rod. but thats good to know about the single hook and the treble hook i never thought about that
  13. so I'm new to swim bait fishing mainly because its not wildly popular in my area but i feel as tho i've had enough success on hallow body swim baits that i want to maybe try small hard body swim baits. what would be a good set of guide lines maybe not so brand wise but what weight action length rod should i get and keep in mind budget friendly because it won't most likely be used as much. i have looked at the irod jr swim bait rods as a base point. any help would be appreciated
