  1. This is the wrong forum. Go ask at a Saltwater forum.
  2. Yeah, how does it hold knots compared to nanofil or fireline?
  3. All personal preference, but probably yo zuri.
  4. It depends. For light Topwater, go straight braid or straight mono. If ur fishing in heavy hydrilla and pads, then go straight fluoro or braid with fluoro leader.
  5. Doesn't it also supposedly help with sensitivity?
  6. Its a bit expensive for a braid or fused braid. It cost around 20$ to buy it off ebay for 150 yards.
  7. 119$ for a composite reel? No way Jose. Almost all reels above 100$ have solid aluminum frames expect for shimano. Kinda disappointed as they now don't have a aluminum reel anywhere close to 100$.
  8. Get mono. Using braid as a beginner is = wasting $$$. Start off with a cheap 12lb copoly or mono, because you will undoubtedly have to cut your line multiple times.
  9. Like JeziHogg said, you only actually need 75 yards of braid or so for bass. The rest you can fill with cheap 12lb mono. Also, under-filling will definitely reduce casting distance, but overfilling can actually be worse, as it causes huge problems. A good rule of thumb would be to follow the 1/8 inch rule when spooling line on.
  10. Read the TT review on the musky rod.
  11. Sorry, didn't realize that lol. I though they changed something more than just the d**n blank color
  12. I hope you realize that the tournament LE rods just came out a few months ago. Are you talking about the regular, blue tournament rods?
  13. Laser MG is not good at all.... def worth it to upgrade by 20$ to the reg. speed spool
  14. Also, just an FYI, the Fury just came out so don't expect that many people to have used the Fury and the Ghost.
  15. LOL The Hooligan has no idea what is going on.....
  16. Had a spool of the exact same line test and type bought from Walmart on clearance. Needless to say, after I opened the box, I immediately returned ( Too stiff and wire-like for me).
  17. TW is so late lol, a lot of other websites have already had them for a 2 weeks or so.
  18. Get ready to get ripped into shreds by SenkoGuru.. just sayin'
  19. Hedgehog or Fleabay
  20. And this sir, is the definition of discrimination.
  21. China or Korea. I think most of Pure Fishing higher end gear is sourced in South Korea.
  22. The bearings are probably a lot better on the Helios v. the Tatula. Also, why do you want to buy the TCS. What's wrong with the regular version? You can get the regular version off of amazon for around 130$
  23. If you don't know the exact types of techniques or styles he fishes, you will be better off just buying him a *** 200$ gift card.
  24. No need to be salty. Smalljaw was asking a perfectly legitimitate question. Too many times, new members come up and ask a extremely vague question that nobody has any idea how to answer. Back to the original question, the h20 ethos would be the best bet for a rod in the 50$ range. For the reel, I would get a pluefger Supreme MGX or President. If you can find the Supreme MGX on clearance jump on it, as it is a really good reel. I personally haven't used the President, but it gets rave reviews from the majority of people who have one. Overall, this setup should cost you around 99$ to 120$. Good Luck, Vince
