You can fish now? Lol in central jersey there is still a thin layer of ice. Over the next couple days, as it gets colder, the ice is gonna get even thicker.
So I caught this bass during the fall. It was in a local pond, where I had previously caught many bass. The thing is, is that the coloration is very different from all the other bass I have caught in this pond. Anybody got any ideas why?
ASAP but the ice still hasn't melted yet.... I'm probably stuck inside for another week or so. This winter is the longest winter NJ has had in a long time... usually, the ice melts by the beginning of March.
I would go with the Okuma combo. Honestly, the time and hassle you are going to put in to simply change hands is just not worth it. I have a Okuma rod, that is one step below the Helios, the c3-40x, that I am more than satisfied with. Go try out the helios and give us a review.
Amazon pricing for me changes everyday. Some days I manage to get really good deals. For example, I managed to get a Okuma c3-40x rod that retailed for $170 for 60$.
For the Uni-Uni knot, the lines have to be approxiametly the same diameter. Not exactly but pretty close. I agree with Goose. If you deal with a huge carp or bass, and your braid is tied to your wiffle spool, all that tension will be placed on your reel gears. Not a good thing at all.
I agree. Usually when I fish with live bait, the panfish tear up the live bait in seconds. That's why I don't use it anymore. Unless you want to use bigger minnows or shiners, it's the reality you have to face when fishing live bait.
Tear it down, lube it, and clean it. There are so many micro particles in the water (silt and mud), that can get trapped in your reel if you don't clean it.
So I just bought this reel for 39$. Anybody have it and how is it? I'm not talking about the new one, but rather the older one with the clicking start drag and spool tension.
