  1. Great. Thanks for the advice.
  2. I've tried finding some new spots here lately, only to strike out. International Harvesters in Lakeland continues to disappoint. Next i'm trying Orgil Park in Millington area. Anyone fished out there?
  3. You know, I'm not sure. She repaired a baitcaster of mine and only charged me $15. I think that is drastically underpriced.
  4. Darn, guess you'll have to go back! What a bummer... 2 Bass Pro trips in a week!
  5. If you go to the Bass Pro on Sycamore View, they have a lady named Jane who does rod and reel repair. Shes a guru, and is incredibly affordable. She's fixed a Shimano Curado for me, and while she was at it replaced the guides on my Denali rod. The Bass Pro guys back in fishing have her card, but you can leave your gear at Bass Pro and Jane will come pick it up, repair it, and return it. Takes a little faith the first time, but she's never done me wrong! I highly recommend her, and so do the Bass Pro staff.
  6. Merry Christmas! I hope all of you get the rods/reels/tackle/Bass Pro gift cards that you all asked for.
  7. Caught a decent little guy (1 lb? 1 1/4 lb?) on a green senko at Mike Rose. Went back again, missed two bites early and then not a single bite after. Seems like a nice little pond.
  8. Has anyone ever fished at Mike Rose Soccer Complex? I just called, its open to fish and there are bass in there.
  9. Nice fish. Is that in Collierville at Halle?
  10. You write your name on a slip of paper and deposit it and $5 into a box. Boat rentals are closed, I think. It's all honor system!
  11. Just got back from a trip up to the Ozark lakes. Man those guys don't know how good theyve got it with all those clearwater rock lakes. Table Rock, Pomme de Terre, Stockton... caught some big pigs and handful of keepers. Oh well, back to the pond hopping in Memphis. If y'all ever get a chance to travel up there to fish, DO IT.
  12. Had a couple decent days on Pomme last weekend. WHITE Buzz Bait on the windy flats and a mouse color spinnerbait while running parallel to some bluffs. Caught some on a wart as well. Caught a nice 5 1/2 pounder and a dozen or so keepers each day. Yall live in the best part of the country.
  13. What line are you using? How deep are you running that rattletrap? Baitcaster or spinning reel?
  14. What color wiggle wart is working? I've heard that some pumpkin/orange color is working on a jig. The Toyota Tournament up there- 13 pounds won it and 4 pounds drew a check... that's some sad fishing right there. I'm traveling from Memphis up to TR to weekend fish, and the report on the bite right now is not encouraging. Any tips will be helpful. I can put in wherever. I'm open to suggestions. I tend to stay away from Branson/Big Cedar points. I usually put in at Kimberling City.
  15. Any updates for recent Fall fishing on TR?
  16. The bite is picking up for me. Senkos and some shallow crankbaits are bringing some success. Still nothing on the topwater stuff that I have tried, but i've only thrown topwater sparingly. Anybody else noticing the improving trend?
  17. War Eagle to you as well. Nashoba (behind GTown Chick Fil A) is a decent spot. Also, I recently hit some fairly large ponds on the Greenline off Wolf River, copy these coordinates in to Google Maps to see them. You have to kinda sorta go down a slight hill to get to the water, but it's worth it. 35°06'58.4"N 89°48'53.1"W
  18. Where are you starting out from? Some of the more visited spots from guys on this board are: Grove Park in Germantown (behind Houston Middle School) Halle Park in Collierville Nashoba Park in Germantown (behind Chick-fil-a) If you are coming from Bartlett, Lakeland, Arlington area there's: Appling Lake in Bartlett Inernational Harvesters Park in Lakeland. Herb Parson's out in Eads If you have a boat, Glenn Springs up near Millington is a decent lake to put a boat in and fish. You can launch a gas boat, but you can only idle. Good luck.
  19. I'm fairly new to Nashoba- but I caught both of mine on the shady side of the lake near the entrance off the medical center parking lot; just walk 2 benches in. Caught both on a Senko maybe 10 yards off the bank. Saw another guy catch a couple deep with a fluke off the bottom. I've been going during my lunch break this week, and I can see bass patrolling the bank, but they aren't interested in biting. They patrol in groups of 4 or 5. I think middle of the day is a tough time to get them to bite.
  20. Sounds like a nice day. I changed plans and went to Nashoba- caught a couple 2 LBers and missed a big one, all on a Senko. There was lots of topwater activity, but I couldn't get any bites on topwater baits. Going again during lunch break to try and get 'the one that got away'... I'm sure it was a 14 pounder....at least!
  21. How is fishing lately? I've been out of it for a few weeks- life gets in the way of good fishing. I'm headed to a private farm pond to get some froggin practice in. Also may go try Grove again. Anybody had any luck there lately?
  22. I'm headed to International Harvester in Lakeland tomorrow- anybody had any recent luck out there?
  23. Still better than not fishing! That's the exact same result that i have had the past few outings using a Senko. Dinks.
  24. There's a 10+ pounder lurking in Grove? I've had success with a new bait recently- a square bill crank called a 'baitball'. http://www.basspro.com/LIVETARGETYearling-Bait-Ball-Rattlebait/product/1407150711485/?cmCat=CROSSSELL_PRODUCT Bought a new rod as well, its the Academy brand H20 cranking rod- best feel of any rod that I own (even vs some of the more expensive ones). Reasonably priced too at $49.99, but you can catch it on sale for $39.99. Thought I'd share.
  25. Dink city over the weekend for me. (Still better than not fishing) Anybody do any good?
