  1. I believe it has been on the bottom since the 1800's.
  2. In most of the tournaments that I fish in the summer many boats run out and drop shot on rockpiles, humps, ect., and it works great and wins a lot of tournaments. Many of these spots are pounded and the fish have seen every technique in the book and thus are very leery. I have realized that there are an abundance of large wrecks in about forty foot of water, but I have never heard of anybody fishing any of these spots. I see no reason why they don't hold fish and thought that they may be a diamond in the rough. Do people not fish them for a reason or do they just not talk about them for fear of giving away a hotspot? The main wreck I am looking to fish is 100+ foot wooden steamer few hours from my house so I haven't had a chance to try it out and see if I is any good. Are their any factors that make a particular wreck "better" than the wrest? Thanks, Mass Bassin'
  3. If you live in New England, you cant go wrong with On The Water Magazine.
  4. I disagree, I think casting distance can be a big factor when fishing a deep diving crankbait, fishing in gin clear water for skittish smallmouth, and casting to a target from shore.
  5. I looked at the *** *** and really liked it, i heard its made really well, and no complaints, but i didnt know if it had anything that makes it shine above the rest. The chronarch ci4+ has xship and the lews turnament pro has an amazing reputation. But i will definately look closer at it. The trick shop by *** is a cool factor too.
  6. Excuse my noseyness but can i ask some of the other reels you have
  7. Thank you, i actually had my eye on the lews turnament pro but i wrote team pro down earlyer for some reason. My buddy has the old turnament pro and i really like it, but i was looking at the new modle, and the magnesium one they added that ways like 5.3oz if im not misaken.
  8. thanks for the imput. ive also seen some great reviews of the lews team pro speed spool. any thoughts
  9. I have a replica of a five i caught a few years back and i have a couple real mounts a friend gave me and i gotta say the replicas are not as realistic but i would rather have a the replica and let the fish go, unless the fish was dead or about to die. in that case i would definately get a real mount.
  10. Ive been looking at a reel to buy in the $200-$300 range that incorperates power and a light weight build. So far ive decided on a chronarch ci4+ or a revo premier. There gonna serve as a jig fishing reel and be paired with a 7'1" heavy powell max 3d. I cant make up my mind and i need some help deciding. What would you choose? Are there any other reels you would recommend? Thanks, Mass Bassin'
  11. shot in the dark but are you talking about pomp's pond cuz that place was just treated for weeds and it has giants
  12. crossbow (not a firearm) with exploding arrows
  13. Zoom finnesse worm, dream shot, bruzer baits crazy craw, z man finnesse worm, ect, ect, My killer d-shot bait is a kitch swing impact tho, looks like a goby if u have gobies where u are, just looks like a baitfish to fish around here because i dont have gobies at some of my lakes
  14. Ive had days where if u can find a spot you can catch one every cast then move to another spot when the bite dies down and look for more fish
  15. I got some kitech immitations called tail slippers by kicker fish and i like em so far and their a few $ cheeper
  16. The river i fish has a channel only 5' and the rest is knee deep so i toss a senko up current of a rock or stump and let it drift past and the fish takeing refuge from the current will dart out and grab it, but when im just drifting down river ill toss a spinnerbait or a jerkbait with a fast cadence
  17. Ive tried it and it works well on choppy days but i still feel silly throwin a bobber
  18. well we still got a foot and a half of ice on the lakes around here so the only place well be seeing beds here is in a mattress store.
  19. cool, thanks for the feedback everyone and more people like fire tiger than i would expect i would have to say my favorite colors are gizzard shad, Bluegill, and a craw pattern. I seem to have more luck with natural colors probly because my lakes are high pressure lakes although chartruce/black back works well too because its something the fish dont see often.
  20. I like 10lb braid because it is the same diameter as 2lb mono so it casts a mile!
  21. Their like the original fluke, I would fish them in the spawn because the bright pink will tick off the bass. This theory works around here but the pink may not have the same affect where you are.
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
  23. thanks for the feedback everyone! very interesting.
  24. SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME!!!!!!!!!!!!! I eventually thought about selling the reel because I could not get it to cast I then put the internal breaks on one and I started casting BEAUTIFULLY. hope this helps, Mass Bassin'
