    How do you determine how heavy of a jig to use?

    Do you guys like your weed guards stiff? Or with some give? I don't usually fish with jigs but I find most jigs are very stiff. I'm not a heavy hook set type of guy, more of a medium hook set.

    I caught one of my first bass at my local pond with one of these. I would recommend using a hook with a weight and let it drop to the bottom and slow retrieve it. How much was it on clearance?

    Last year in the summer, we had a die off of alewives in Lake Ontario. I'm not sure if this happens every year.

    I bought a fly setup last year and I plan on using it to target carp this year. I did catch one carp on a fly in the summer, it was a awesome fight.
