  1. Yea I checked them. Nothing cheaper really. It was 178 plus tax. I’m not too bent out of shape about it
  2. Had a few pops last night and it gave me the confidence to pull the trigger on this! Scorpion 19 mgl 151hg! 195$ with taxes. Pretty stoked!
  3. Ok so I may have a turn of events. I just got my tax return and it was way more than I thought. I know the bantam mgl is a better reel than the curado K BUT is it worth spending twice a Curado k? the tackle junky in me is saying buy the curado and buy 150$ in tackle lol
  4. @jbsoonerfan I wouldn’t be cranking with it but would still like to make a full cast if necessary
  5. Do you find the 70 size reel to hold enough line?
  6. I am looking at purchasing a new Shimano bait caster somewhere in the curado-chronarch price range. I know the curado K is 2 years old. When will they release a new reel in this price range?
  7. Funny RichZ mentions 8-9lb lmb coming from candlewood! That is giant!!!
  8. Lol it does look like that with the fall colors behind me! Im Not giving away my pond but it’s about 1hr North of queens where I live. but I am totally in the dark about the age of bass. All I know is that a bass above 5lbs in the Northaeast is a plus fish. It makes me crazy to think that the CT state record is almost 13lbs. That’s over double the fish pictured above!!!! WT*!
  9. Cabin fever has kicked in... I’ve cleaned and organized all of my gear. Made my list of “NEED” to get, now I am here asking the hard questions. I caught my PB (5lbs 11oz 22.5”) last year on 10/13/19 in a very small but deep (35/40ft) pond in CT. Side note: I think I have caught this fish the previous year and it broke my PB than @5lb 8oz. But back to my question... HOW OLD IS THIS FISH!? From what I have gained from perusing around the internet it’s around 7-10yrs old? My old PB from 2018 in May. Is this the same fish????
  10. I just installed the spool speed bearings in my curado 201i... I know the free spool timer test kinda doesn’t mean much however I started off at 7sec with stock bearings and than I obtained 27sec with the new spool bearings an 1 tiny drop of oil to make them a little quieter. I haven’t cast it yet as it’s still freezing in ny but am eager to see how it feels. To be honest this is the first time I’ve done major maintenance to this reel. Took me some time bc I wanted to make sure I didn’t lose anything. The schematic helped a ton. Looking forward to warmer weather
  11. I’ll keep you guys posted for sure! Very interesting.
  12. I know you guys aren’t recommending them but have you tried them? Just curious. Sometimes hear say can dominate one’s opinion.
  13. I second this! If you are don’t have spot lock or any other trolling motor GPS anchor and are thinking about it.... DO IT! It has single handed lay changed the way I fish. No worries of blowing away or onto your targeted fishing area. I have a 98’ Alumacraft V16 Lunker Ltd with a 12v 55lb terrova and that thing is awesome. I threw around getting a 24v but unfortunately I don’t have power on the slip where I keep my boat so I have to lug my 12v battery every time so wasn’t really an option.
  14. Just bought a full tune From Spool hi-speed for my Shimano curado 201i. The reel has been a little junky and wanted to give it a fresh start. Anyone have experience with this kid? If so did they oil these hybrid ceramic bearings? Runners or no runners?
  15. Torqued The butt of the rod on my jeeps headrest. Happy it broke there instead of the tip! Easy fix
