  1. I could only take so many "holy molys" from 1Rod1ReelFishing, kid needs a thesaurus
  2. Man what a spot, fish or no fish! Fish is much better!
  3. Have a cruise about in it, and see if you like it. A brand new one is around $13,000, so $4000 for an 18 year old boat give or take seems a little much. Just my .02
  4. That's more or less what I told my boss who happens to be a good friend. Also, there is also already a tackle shop about 15 miles away that is fairly new and has been doing pretty well it seems and has a lot to offer inventory wise, so I don't know if we would be stepping on any toes there or not, as they are nice people and have done business with us. But I am with you, it does not seem like it would make much sense $ wise. Thank you all for the input I really appreciate it, I have been making of list of all of your suggestions. One of the other problems I see is the non fisherman salesman just being pretty much out of their element when helping people with specific fishing items, and maybe blowing off customers. The idea is has not been finalized yet, but you do give me a lot to think about. Thank you!
  5. The boat dealership for which I work for has been around for quite awhile and is well known in the area, however the dealership has mainly carried runabout style family boats, pontoons, and tournament wakeboard boats for the past 15 years and has neglected the bass boat and fishing market. We are now however, a Tracker dealer, so we have Nitros, Bass Trackers, and Trackers on our show room floor now. Here is where you guys come in. Management has now asked me to put up a small fishing tackle section out in our accessories department ( I am the resident fisherman, albeit I have been bass fishing for less than two years). So my question to you all is; what type of fishing items if any, would you be willing to buy from your boat dealership? Since we are a Tracker dealer I will have access to pretty much anything Bass Pro has. Should I just stick with terminal tackle/ line? What types of items do you think you might buy if you were picking up your boat for service/ or drop - off? Thanks in advance guys!
  6. I am fairly new to the drop shot, but have had outstanding success so far with Gambler's Shakey Shad.
  7. You think $10 is outrageous, one of the lakes around here is $11 for your vehicle and $13 for your boat. $24 to launch for one day!
  8. Thanks so much for the info guys! I will be heading to DSG later tonight and grab some of the above mentioned products. Ill let you know how it goes on Monday!
  9. There is a local lake nearby that gets planted with trout every couple of weeks, the water is fairly murky and the water temp was 55-57 degrees last time we were there. It is well known that garlic powerbait will get you some fish at this lake, however I just cannot get into this type of fishing. On the graph we have found schools of them holding close to shore in about 12' of water. The deepest this little fishing lake gets is about 20 feet deep. I have no experience trolling, but would trolling some inline spinners get the job done? We are going to head out again on Monday and was curious as to how you guys would fish for trout, other than doughbait of course. Thanks in advance!
  10. Holy cow!!! Now there's a bait monkey purchase!!
  11. Also curious if anyone drop shots them?
  12. So far so good! All the indicators point to a very wet Jan, Feb!! The snow pack is already much better than last year! Attached file of Nov 2014 vs Nov 2015
  13. Good advice, I generally just do a google search when searching most forums. Usually seem to get better results. I usually just type in "bass resource dropshot" for example. But I bet one would end up with more hits with your method.
  14. +1
  15. Not spending a lot of money on fishing is challenging! Why does fishing stuff have to be so fun to buy?
  16. Looks like with that serial # I am coming up with a 1987 manufacture date. It appears they used the the same lower end on the V-135, V-150, V-175, V-200 in Mercury and Mariner, and Xr6 as well.
  17. Dang..just saw this. Next year!
  18. In the short time I have had my boat this is the one that annoys me the most, so far that it is. I hate being late anywhere so it's kind of a foreign concept to me how people can agree to meet at a time (usually early morning), and then come straggling along like it's no big deal. I really enjoy my sleep, so if I am up early waiting around for you, when I could be already fishing or still sleeping, I might be a little grumpy to start the day!
  19. I did tons of damage with the Cut-R in the beginning of the year! Awesome bait.Lately I have been gaining a lot of confidence in lipless cranks and have been throwing them a lot of the time in recent weeks.
  20. What are you using for your jigs and t rigs? I have been using Big Game in 14lb for most applications when using my baitcasters (cranks, jigs, spinnerbaits, etc). I usually use fluoro 4-8lbs for ned and dropshot on spinning. Should I be doing something different?
  21. Congrats! I have just started out on something pretty similar and I have learned a ton, and do not have to stress about damaging a nice new boat!
  22. I did the same!
  23. Awesome man, small world eh? Well thanks for tips, I do have some Keitech in electric shad so I will give those a go as well!
