Anyone have any insight on highland lake? Thinking about going there this weekend or next. Have a feeling it could be close to spawn, if not, full spawn in two weeks with the warmer weather coming fast. Any tips would be helpful

Yes i grew up on that lake. Lived five minutes away for 20 years. Spent weeks of overall time fishing it growing up. Sadly.. it’s not what it used to be. They treated it for milf oil about 3-4 years ago and it hasn’t been the same since. I used to be able to go out there and put 20 a day in the boat, but since there’s no vegetation left it’s been much more difficult. They chew up jigs and senkos there. They average size bass is probably 1-2lbs because there’s so many in there. My friends and i jokingly call all 1lb bass “robbie bass.” There’s a few 6-8lbers in there. Just much tougher to find. There’s a down log on the right of the island straight from a boat ramp that has produced the biggest fish for me. All Big girls were caught there. So essentially find the wood and structure that isn’t vegataion because there’s none left and throw a jig. Brown and green pumpkin. I caught the one below about 7 years ago. Hence why the quality is so bad. I took it on my LG chocolate LOL and Then a pick of it on my iPhone.

Sweet deal, thanks man. I've heard it's a pretty dangerous lake in terms of the rocks. Heard some horror stories about lower units coming right off. Thanks for the heads up. I use navionics so that we'll help. Is there anywhere i can get a paper map? also do you suggest any specific areas for largies where they like to hang? Not like exact spots, but general areas. Also the same question for smallies? Do you know general areas ? Thanks bud !

Has anyone fished squam lately? If so, any input ? Going up this weekend and fishing for two days. If no one has fished it does anyone have experience on the lake? Specifically this time of year ?

Anyone have any input on fishing this weekend launching out of shelborne? It will be my first time up there. Should I expect deep water? Clear water? Dirty water? Any input would be helpful!
