  1. I agree a lot of the local community centers ponds and park canals and ponds get a decent amount of pressure. Last it's just works better for me. I'm expierementing with the rage rig a lil
  2. I really wana give jigs a try this year! I'm ordering some and some trailers
  3. That's basically me I throw more t rigged stick baits and ribbon tails and swimbait hooked swim baits than anything. Rooster tails are good but hard to fish in the ponds and canals near me do to the cover
  4. I love the Pflueger presidents I have two. You may look at the shimmano ix2000. For a $15 reel they are actually a nice smooth reel I've had a couple over the years. It'll last a long time especially in freshwater duty. Walmart and bass pro have them on line
  5. I fish almost all soft plastics. I mean I throw rattle traps, rooster tails, and crank baits and chatter baits. But besides the rooster tails they have never produced for me so I mainly throw soft plastics. Anyone else out there?
  6. Sorry forgot to mention a 7 foot medium power fast action rod is a good all around an a 2000-4000 series size reel
  7. Berkley lightning shock rod are excellent for th $39 they cost at local walmarts. Pflueger presidents can be foud on clearance and eBay new and used for $30-50 great lil reels. Im a budget fisherman since I'm a family man. I fish nth of those great quality for the money.
  8. I have a Procyon also great rods and reels. Excellent soft plastics rod
  9. I keep some in my bag at all times. I've seemed to have better luck with dark colors tho
  10. Good for you on promoting pond health and the preservation of our awesome game fish!!
  11. You could take a look at erkley lightning rod shock series, halo starlight and daylight series. All very nice light balanced rods under $80. I fish all three ad really like them a lot I'm kinda digging the micro guides on the halo rods tho.
  12. You can back it so there's less braid on the reel. That way te reel isn't full I braid you'll never functionally use. And save a lil cash
  13. Buy what you an afford and make you happy. Most if us aren't pros so there's no return. Don't go Into debt or crazy over needing expensive stuff. Buy quality you can comfortably afford and have fun. Remember it's not a fashion contest on who has the sexiest stuff. No one remembers that chrome won't get ya home.
  14. Check cabelas. I believe they had them on sale.
  15. Another Pflueger president guy here! I have two and love them
  16. 10-15 pound fins wind tamer braid is amazing stuff. It's a lil stiff but it's very forgiving g for braid and manages wind so well
  17. I beleive so also. They make great baits and I love supporting local business. I can't wait to try these
  18. I grabbed a bag of these after watching there vid on there site. Has anyone had any great luck with them? How are you fishing them and rigging them? Thanks as always!
  19. I have a tactical back pack. Plenty of pockets and space. And built very well I believe it a 5.11. Look on la police gear for great deals
  20. I'm getting I to the gambler ez swimmers. I'm fishing them on a weighted swim bait hook. Haven't fished them much yet. But white lightning, red ear, and copper field have gotten some attention. I'm swimming them sub surface and top water.
  21. Man I gotta try that!! That's a great idea to add just a lil weight to the hook!
  22. Oh ok excellent idea! Are you just spiral wrapping the solder on the hook?
  23. 1/8-3/16 or so below the edged the spool give or take seems to work great with all lines
  24. Oh huh excellent idea! I grabbed the unweighted because the guy I know at the local shop basically fishes these and the big ez exclusively. And that is what he throws them on so I figured I'd give it a try
  25. Well I snagged some 4/0 unweighted and 3/0 1/8 swim bait Hooks. These are the colors I've been trying out.
