My name is Will Kirkgard, born and raised in Austin, Texas, 21 years old, and I am currently a junior at the University of Texas at Austin and I am perusing a bachelors in petroleum engineering with a minor in geographical information systems.

Fishing has always been apart of my life, but only recently has it become pretty serious. I grew up blessed to have a grandfather with a lake house on Lake Conroe outside of the Houston area, and that is a great little lake where I grew up fishing and learning my fishing basics. When I came to college, my group of guy friends that I became apart of were big into fishing; a couple of us have boats and most have kayaks so when we have a break from studying, we always hit the local lakes here in Austin. I am still on a college budget so I don't exactly have the greatest of equipment compared to others, but I make-due with the equipment I have (two bait casting, two spinning) and the lures I can buy every now and then. I have recently joined the Bass Team here at UT and am looking forward to compete with other colleges in a competitive environment around the state/country.

1. Frog Togg, best you can get for the best bang for your buck. Its amazing. I've sat in my kayak for 4 hours in the rain (sometimes pouring rain) and when I got back to my truck, my clothes underneath were completely dry.
2. Bored on this cold day in Texas and the down season of fishing, I have searched long and hard for the topic of personal bests on the forums but I could only find singular stories of people hitting their personal best and nothing much after that, so I wanted a place for people to put their personal best stories on a forum to share with others. Personally, I love hearing of peoples greatest fishing stories because you know that every detail is still burned in their memory from the excitement of when they pulled that beast of a fish out of the water and held it in their hands for the first time. So my question to you is, what is your personal best fishing story? Pictures are awesome if you have them.
3. "I'm gonna slap it on you so hard today that your girlfriend is going to ask who abused you when you get back home" -Fishing guide in Alaska "Do fish eat fishing line?" -Dumb friend "Who can actually spend 100 dollars only on lures?" - Ex-girlfriend... Putting an emphasis on the ex part
4. My friend has purchased this and uses it on his wilderness systems, I'm not sure the specific type of the kayak though. He says he loves it and it feels like a very study/comfortable lawn chair. The only complaint is that the seat (for the price) there is no storage on the back of it, but he says it isn't a deal breaker. Other than that if it gets stuck in the recline position while you're in the seat on the kayak its almost impossible to get out of; also if you're in the high position if you inch forward too much, the seat falls from the high position to low.
5. Recently have noticed that I am running low on hooks and I have some christmas money to spend on fishing stuff. But with so many different kinds to buy, I was just wondering on advice to which ones/how many I should buy? What oughts? Which ones are used the most for you? I use Texas rig more than anything that isn't pre-rigged like jigs and such. Like always, anything helps and thanks in advance.

7. Thanks everyone. I've heard they've been killing it out on the water this year I just hadn't heard much about the rigging. Also sorry, I just figured out how to search all forums and this has been asked before. Can't wait to see what hogs I can catch with these things.
8. Hey y'all, I know that it is winter and the fishing is slow, but I was just wondering if anyone has had the chance to use the new Rage Tail product called the structure bug- some call it the Rage Bug. I received this new product from MTB and haven't gotten the chance to use it and don't know what the best rigging would be. Anything helps! Thanks
9. Hopefully this is the right place to ask, but, has anyone had experience with having to store their kayak somewhere when they were living in an apartment? My place is a decent size, but of course my Hobie Pro Angler 12' is just a little bulky and takes up a lot of space. I have thought about just maybe buying those large storage hooks and putting it up on a wall? Anything helps.
10. Hello everyone, I have been on before and just read forums, along as watched every video on bassresource's YouTube channel, and have decided that I joined this awesome community with so much angling information. Anyway, I still have so much to learn and I am extremely excited to learn from those of you who love to share fishing knowledge. This place is awesome and I can't wait to get to know some of you.
