  1. Been having some great days as of late.
  2. What a GREAT excuse to get some new reels LOL! Let me know if you need some help on the prefishing
  3. .... that's definitely a deal! d**n
  4. Indoor just so the boat is out of the elements. Especially if power is there charging the batteries.
  5. Anyone know of anyone willing to rent out storage for my boat I'm located in Germantown, MD with no storage space for my 14" jon. Just thought I would hit the boards to see if anyone here or know of someone that would like to make some extra cash on the side. Thanks in advance!
  6. I'll be out on the water tomorrow. Will report back if it's anything to write home about.
  7. Ever since the Damiki spotlight, small swim baits have come back in a craze. action looks great.
  8. Wow, great to see the old guys on the top of the leaderboard! Well deserved win on that day and conditions. Really shallow huh?!
  9. Have fun doing it through the "snowpocalypse." lol
  10. Honestly, both should do the job. Unless your throwing a small less than 3" swim bait unweighted - they should both work. I am really, really interested in getting myself a Chronarch MGL within the week. Can't wait. I'm a Shimano/Daiwa guy and have yet to have any issues. I did have issues with a Revo STX Gen 3 and that was the last I bought into Abu. I second what NyBasser said in regards to the Curado 70, thing is awesome.
  11. I know what you mean. Just got everything settled on the boat and i can't seem to find a weekend where the weather isn't treacherous. What the hell....
  12. There are a ton of folks that were in your situation. In no time what so ever - you will find us... LOL.
  13. Looking for advice on places I could take my Tracker Grizzly 1448 to get some work done. I would start the project myself but it would be too much of a pain right now to drive back and forth to where the boat is kept for the winter. The work would consist of just making a larger front casting deck and rear deck to cover the batteries and bench. How much would something like this run? Anyone know anyone who does this on the side?
  14. I have the Garmin, used it on my bass raider 10E. Thought it was a great little unit for the price point. User interface is a little different but right when you get used to it, it's a breeze. DI, Sonar, and GPS all worked really well. Didn't have any issues with it at all.
  15. Wayne, Do you know if they are going to be bringing out something in the 8-10 inch screen size?
  16. The new Humminbird Mega Imaging also got me thinking. For some reason, I just don't like the setup of the Humminbirds and user experience. No touch screen; can't mark a spot on the fly like you can on the touch screens, especially when you're running side imaging and see a bunch of stumps and want to tag them quickly.
  17. You can get away with size and efficiency with the Lowrance Hook series they mentioned above.
  18. It's hard to beat the price tag of the new Elite Ti units with the understanding that they are not going to do certain things the HDS' can. Any of you folks get the Elite Ti's and regret not going straight to the HDS Gen 3 or vice versa? I'm looking for a bow mount unit around 9-12"; wondering if when the new HDS Carbon series comes out the HDS Gen 3 tag will go down?
  19. Can we come even if we aren't sure if we can commit to FOBA?
  20. More tournaments on Saturday/Sundays! You've grabbed my interest, Logan....
  21. Exactly what he said. When 'matching the hatch' - I always refer to what kind of forage, size of forage, and lastly the color.
  22. gmoney13, since moved from South jersey to maryland. Appreciate it though!
  23. good to see that boat back in the water Joe!
  24. Are we sure this isn't floss... LOL
  25. The braid test is too light for a baitcaster. You could use it but it will be extremely difficult and annoying - the line is so thin that it will bed into the spool of line. Too give you comparison in diameters - 50# braid is equivalent to 12lb flouro. So your dads 6 lb braid, i can't even calculate how thin that is. Commonly, on baitcasters - people tend to start at around 30 and above in # braid. If he wants to go that thin - a spinning reel will be far better of an option. Birds Nests are 99% user error (my math) - there are a ton of videos out there on youtube that will help your father setup his reel properly to deter bird nests. Make sure he understands, whipping the bait is not always the best way and definitely does not get you the most distance. A solid roll cast will go just as far if not father. If he is overhanding, could be another issue as well. If the line tension is too light, the line is coming off to fast off the spool to where it is not coming off the rod quick enough, thus line overrun and bad bird nests.
