  1. My new ride for 2017
  2. Just added some new rods. Enigma Phenom Titaniums. Going to be adding 2-3 more in the next week or 2. Did some Winn Grip wraps right away as well.

  4. I have learned over time to buy the best I can afford the first time. My Ned Rig rod has burned through 2 lews reels in a year and half and and I purchased the Stradic FJ on sale (should Have bought all of them for the $120 price on them) and that is the smoothest reel for the the money I have felt. Light as well. Not clunky and smooth drag.
  5. The Gloves i wear that are very comfortable are these http://www.aftco.com/solmar-uv-fishing-gloves-2178-prd1.htm. I don't get hooks in them and can wear them all day without feeling hot or like the circulation is cut off to my fingers or hands.
  6. The last 3 years I have always worn a long sleeve, buff, hat and sun gloves. The problem with sunscreen is it can wear off in as little as 4 hours and you have to re apply it. I would rather enjoy the outdoors the rest of my life even if I look goofy then have to have holes cut in me to remove the Big C.
  7. It's a little more money then the Black Pak but any Hobie accessories fit on it that fit on the hrail and also has holes in the side to add rod holders.
  8. My H-crate. I will get some updated pictures when I get home. Holds 7 3700 size Planos. The H-rail is the best part for attaching accessories.
  9. I used to put it in the back of the truck with a bed extender. I picked the trailer up for $225 and modified it a little and for under $250 I have a great trailer for the long hauls when I have to fill the bed with camping gear. Just have to paint it and add some home made rod pods and a toolbox on one side and it will be set.
  10. I see pictures everyday from people that don't understand selective harvest. Keeping your limit of 12-14" fish can help out the waters if your not doing it every day. When I see people keeping limits of 8-10 yr old bass in the 20-24" range full of eggs it irritates me a little. Those bass didn't grow that big by having bad genes. I don't eat bass because of the taste I would much rather eat perch or walleye. I do keep a couple 12" bass for the father in law when he requests it though.
  11. I have 2 of the Cabelas ZX rods. One is the swimbait rod and one is the frog rod. I think for the money they are worth it. I had one eye on the ZX rod break and took it back and they replaced it for me no questions asked. St Croix does make a good stick though.
  12. Used some points and picked some up. My local Cabelas does it from time to time and clears them out. When they do it locally at the 4.99 I try to clear the shelves of the colors and baits I know work for me.
  13. I am a little biased and I have fished out of both. Canoes can be very stable depending on how they are setup. Kayaks can go anywhere a canoe can and can get there faster. I wouldn't do a lot of stuff on a canoe that I would do on a kayak though. I am glad you are hooked now @prjavelin soon enough you will be very comfortable in your kayak. It would be tough to do this in a canoe.
  14. When you get the tracking number call UPS and have them hold it at their local facility until you can pick it up.
  15. We get them pretty big here in Idaho. 40 degree water smallie. This was last summer.
  16. Super Clean looking. I wish mine was inside the house. I have the 3rd bay of the garage that is walled off and I have my tv hooked up. Still have to paint it and get the tv hung on the wall. By mid season it will be a mess. This was when I first moved in so don't mind the rods and gear laying everywhere.
  17. All of my rods range from 6'11" to 7'11". Next year I am going to go with all custom rods. Shorter butt length on all but my swimbait rods.
  18. In my opinion a lot of it can depend on your location. If you are right on the water and there isn't another tackle shop relatively close to the water where someone can dock and walk up to I don't think it would work too well. If you are on the water just carry all of the stuff that works on the lake or local water. If you are in town and you carry stuff other local places don't like the higher end baits IE: megabass, evergreen, other JDM stuff. You might hit the market that way.
  19. I fish in a larger river daily with a decent flow rate and about 20 ft deep I use the 1/5 size to get it down and keep it from getting caught in the flow too much. If I am casting to 4ft or less on a bank of the river I downsize to a 1/10 head and that again is too keep it from moving too much in the current. In both situations I use the current to work the rig.
  20. That is a good package there. Who you message the seller back do google translate to Japanese. It will look the same to him.
  21. I have bought some things off auction sites and they were shipped from Japan. They always have great communication and like @John G said they throw in bags of candies from time to time. No reason to be worried. They just type what they want to say in google translate and hope it comes out ok.
  22. I can't get this monkey off my back. Just came in from Japan and it only took 4 days.
  23. Got a screaming deal on this reel. I told myself I was going to wait until I saw this deal pop up. They even sent me some treats from Japan. Paired it with my Veracity Med. Mod Rod.
