Mann’s Auger Tail Lizard. Those things were deadly to the extreme on pre spawn bass. Matter of fact I did a search a couple of years ago and someone was looking for a some to make a mold so he could start producing them again. Don’t know how that ever worked out. John

Planning on talking my family to Michigan in August on vacation. Looking for suggestions on which lake to stay on. We would like a cabin or cottage on the lake and be close enough to drive to a few restaurants but don’t want anything real commercial or busy. Mainly just enjoying the outdoors and did I mention fishing? Yeah definitely want a place that we can fish for bass, both LM/SM and maybe other species as well. Thinking some place a little smaller as we’re mostly bank fisherman tho wouldn’t mind renting a boat but have no experience locating fish on a huge lake. That about sums it up and thanks for any suggestions and recommendations. John

I have taken about a 10-12 year hiatus from bass fishing but now plan to get back into it. I got a new reel for Christmas- a Penn Spinfisher v 3500. It seems a little heavy duty for bass fishing but I wonder what would be a good(balanced) rod(around $100) to match with it. I fish mostly from the bank but usually target the larger fish meaning throwing bigger baits. A Texas trip is on the horizon in March. Thanks and Happy New Year, John.
