  1. I bought mine on ebay last year in june I think, bottle is still half full works like a charm I have been using it more this summer than I did last year. saving me a ton on rage toads.
  2. for $40 I would buy it in a heart beat unless there are huge gouges in the cork or missing/bent guides, snapped tip. dirty don't matter. also check to make sure the blank is straight some people store their rods with the line so tight the rod is bent, eventually, I have heard, the rod will take on a bit of a bend in the blank. give it a good look and if all checks out BUY IT.
  3. this sale at cabelas is killing me I am looking at the QTS6105F quantum pt superlite rods. most of what they have left is xtra fast and I was thinking the 6'10 MH XF would be a decent dock skipping rod. I mostly skip senko's and weighted craw tubes. thoughts? any one use the super lite rods it's quite a mark down and hard to pass up.
  4. could just go fishing on Friday nights
  5. when does the sale end? any one want to loan me $80 ;D
  6. a little water in there will add a little weight to get you a bit more distance on the cast. the only thing I do is bend the hooks out away from the body a little bit.
  7. senko rage toad lake fork craw tube rapala X-walk 13 rapala x-rap xr10 black/silver
  8. I am at the launch at 5 am. I go to one of the better spots on the lake first and throw an x walk13 along the shallow weed edges usually pick up the bigger fish of the day doing that with the ocassional musky. I then go across the lake to the creek inlet where I will throw either x rap or a craw tube. if that isn't working or when the bite dies off I work the shore line throwing either a crank bait or spinner bait. if I pick up any fish I will slow down and throw the craw tube again. if the craw tube isn't working I will try a fluke or senko. come around 9 am I have done a lap around the little lake and it's time to throw some frogs in pads and milfoil. I usually head home around 11. if the fishing was good I may take my son out for a couple hours in the evening where we bobber fish for sunnies or he will play in the boat while I throw a spinnerbait or crank bait. every fish I catch he gets to reel in. head home around 9 and listen to the wife complain about keeping him up past bed time. ;D
  9. I fish till duck hunting starts. I may get out on a friday night but for the most part rods come out and the blind goes on the boat.
  10. I fish as close to docks as I can get, skipping under them bouncing crankbaits off the uprights what ever. if someone is sitting on the dock I leave it be if there is another boater working a stretch of docks I will find another stretch I try to stay at least 3 casts away from other fisherman and if I can help it i try not to cut them off either (I hate that!)
  11. the question is how many fish do you leave with 1 eye after catching them. It seems like I hook fish and it comes out through the eye all the time. But that is probably because I catch a lot of dinks.
  12. 5 lbs 12 oz rapala x-walk 13 gold/black 5:30 am
  13. I get maybe 2 a month and since I only get to fish for 3 months that's not that many still haven't broke 6 lbs yet.
  14. when I fish in the local lakes where the "nature sounds are water skiers, jet skiers and highway traffic then I play the stereo when I am up north on a more quiet lake then no tunes.
  15. I put in on every thing I throw and muskies love it. before mega strike, 8 muskie in 4 years after mega strike 22 muskies in 3 years all in the same lake while fishing for bass.
  16. that fish he caught at the end of the video, I wouldn't have even tried to fish in there! just insane and of course, I.......must..........have.............some nice link thanks.
  17. so I was out the other day and picked up 11 fish for 4 hours. I wasn't all that impressed none were over 3 lbs and it got me thinking, at which point would you say you had a good day, 10 fish per hour? 5? while not on that specific trip I would say I average 4 fish per hour some times more sometimes less. What is your average fish per hour.
  18. when I catch pike I hold them upside down it keeps them from thrashing around (unless they are too big, not usually a problem for me ) I imagine it would work for bass too.
  19. hop in the water and get off the shore, a little weeds and water wont hurt you. if the bottom is too mucky get on craigs list and get a cheap used canoe you should be able to get one for under $100 and you can put it on top of your car.
  20. how has the milfoil been for you on the lakes. I pretty much fish 1 lake all the time and this has been the worst year for weeds I have ever seen. most of my prime spots are choked out and I am having trouble finding new ones. I cant even catch fish on senko's. on another lake I fish near buffalo I can have a 20 fish day but of those 20 maybe 3 over 2 pounds, barely.
  21. fishing the twin cities here in MN it happens constantly it doesn't even bother me any more. the ones who do though are the water skiers, on the lake I fish they are always out around 6 30 and set up a course right around one of the best areas on the lake to fish, and of course they have to be 30 yards behind me though I have had them run, pulling a guy 20 feet from me between me and the edge of the cover I was working after the third pass calls were made. but thats another topic, I guess people are just arrogant every where you go just ignore them and don't move they will move on eventually.
  22. ducks, deer, pheasants and grouse
  23. For me, absolute garbage. Ive been fishing in the eden prarie area throwing everything I got. I have been averaging around 10 fish per trip average trip is 4-6 hours and I have only caught 1 over 4 and 2 over 3 pretty lame. how has it been for you and if your doing good what are you using.
  24. any size to the pike? I have the same problem on one of the lakes I fish. it is almost 2 to 1 pike problem is nothing over 20 inches so just boring fish that tear up spinner baits and steal baits.
  25. I was out a couple weeks ago and caught a little 1 lb bass and while I let my son play the fish at the boat another 1 1/2 or 2 lb bass came up and tried two or three times to grab the lure from the smaller one. this was like 5 feet from the boat. never did hook the other one though.
