  1. not anymore. they are draining it.
  2. me too brother no fun at all!
  3. i have been skunked 3 times in a row. my issue is the water level is high and the water temp has gone down 10 degrees. shallow is producing nothing, I back off to deep weed edges, nothing. I honestly don't know what to do. im pretty much blaming the water temp. im open to suggestions. tried everything from frogs, buzz baits, flukes, senkos, shallow cranks, deep cranks, t-rigged plastics (all depths to about 15') (these lakes are pretty shallow), thinking maybe going small perhaps shaky head or drop shot.
  4. first time in a real bass boat. the boat was pulled up on the sand and I put one foot in and went to shove off with my other foot just as my buddy started backing up with the motor. being completely off balance I half fell and grabbed the trolling motor with one foot dragging in the water and one in the boat. I am 300 lbs so it was pretty tuff trying to get in the boat. buddy laughed his ass off when he noticed me struggling to get in the boat.
  5. I have 2 kids a 6 year old son and a 4 year old daughter. both love fishing. my son does not have the patience to work on casting and I don't have the patience to untangle lines so he and his sister play in the boat while I fish and they take turns reeling them in.
  6. crank up the tunes, grab whatever lure looks most promising and just enjoy the day.
  7. leatherman, bug spray, tp, ipod.
  8. my lakes are so pressured that I have noticed a definate decline in fish as more people get on the water. I am usually at the launch by 5 and usually by 7 fish are hard to come by, not to mention the water skiers ruin my favorite lake by that time. the other nice thing is I am home by 10 I get to lounge around the house have a big lunch do some chores then take the kids out for the evening bite.
  9. I am left side retarded so I feel your pain.
  10. I hate you all. still frozen here and bass opener is a long way away
  11. My brother is notorious for this, he will loose his only spinner bait then borrow one of mine. after a few hours he usually looses that one grabs another then forgets to give it back at the end of the trip. he always says oh, I owe you a spinnerbait man sorry. I have yet to recieve a lure back from him. on the other hand I do make more money than him, not much but I can afford to buy more where he cant. but still
  12. I am usually out early around 5 or so I just like to listen to nature wake up untill the jet skis and water skiers come out then It's time for tunes. I find fish really like an x rap worked to master of puppets
  13. wife used to give me crap about how much I spend on hunting and fishing till I started pointing out all my buddies going out to bars and blowing $100 a night on drinks and games! suddenly a $70 spinning reel that I will use for 5 years doesn't seem like such a big deal. I haven't been in a bar in probably 6 years. my hobbies keep me drinking at home lol
  14. thanks for the replies I got a lot of good info and will tackle the project here pretty soon. expect questions when I start!
  15. I have a bunch of old curado's and citica's to clean, lube and install new drags. I don't know where to start really. what tools do I need what grease/oil should I use any tips you can offer what drag would you reccomend. can I repair the drags? I had heard you can rough it up and it will work again, it keeps slipping now on most of them. I am broke and cant afford to send in 13 reels at $15 each it adds up!
  16. 30 rounds for the 30-30. 150 or so 12 gauge ammo and maybe 200 rounds for the 22. duck season just ended here yesterday so I am running low there. I have lots of friends with well over 1000 rounds, remind your friend just how fast you can shoot them up. I mean when I trap shoot it's usually 200 rounds or so at a time and I dont shoot as much other people. when the zombies attack guess whose house your anti gun friend will be running too!
  17. around here its more hmong and mexicans. it is nothing to see a birthday party at one of my lakes where you have 30 mexicans throwing out a big bobber with 5 hooks under it. no matter how small the sunny it goes in the bucket. last time I saw this I was only 19 and they shared a couple beers with me so I didn't report them but now I would have been on the phone so fast!
  18. for me when there is a full moon I pretty much only fish evening or really early morning as in 3 am. It seems like whenever I get out after a full moon the fishing is terrible, sunday I caught 1 little 3 lb snot rocket for 5 hours of fishing throwing everything from spinnerbaits, crankbaits, shakyhead just about every soft plastic I own. the pike came on a walk the dog topwater at around 6 30 am. I was late to the launch and didn't even launch till 6. I fished big stuff and little stuff and in depths from 0-20 ft I just couldn't get on them!
  19. welcome you will learn so much so fast around here you will forget more by bass opener than you ever knew before! I live in Plymouth MN and am always looking for someone to fish with I have plenty of stuff so this spring if you want to get out let me know! but for now duck hunting starts tomorrow so I am pretty much done fishing for the year. any way welcome and spend some time in the fishing articles section lots of info in there.
  20. braid floats and there are a lot of inconsiderate boaters out there, heck I have been close to having it happen to me before.
  21. just checking but did your graph show little cartoon fish or arcs? if it was showing cartoon fish you could have been seeing anything.
  22. that is why it is so important not to be a one trick pony
  23. it would depend on the attitude of the family, if they were like screw him he walked away too bad I would maybe decide to go swimming right there before I left. If I came back and they were like, oh sorry we thought your were leaving and were decent people I would offer to show them what I was doing and move on.
  24. bait monkey says YES! while I would say you don't need one it is nice to have certain rods dedicated to certain techniques. I feel it gives me more confidence knowing all my gear is designed for what I am trying to do.
  25. http://www.kmbc.com/r/19730665/detail.html gives you a better reason to get off the lakes in a storm!
