my 6' st croix premier spinning rod tip insert popped out. never replaced a rod tip before but want to give it a try. The following rod tip repair kit has three tips. is one of them the right size for my rod?

i got mine for $40 last year.
thanks for sharing. i now know where to send my reels.
but i have questions, does it make sense to buy a used reel and send it to a pro to fix it? can u still save some coins that way? why not buy a new reel?
which model? I tried the previous model and didn't like it. It's two heavy & big for my liking. I then bought a lexa 1500 and am pretty happy with it so far.
is there any slop in the gear/handle? if so you might need to shim it to make it feel smooth.
i'd flush all the bearings to see if that improves it.
a worn out worm gear/pawl could also cause it to act up.
a lot of reel gears are made of duralumin nowadays. I never heard of people having trouble with lubing duralumin gears. It is very possible that there is another issue. one missing washer could cause the reel to squeak too, it happened to me one time
