  1. Polar Kraft has a gloomis style one I would contact DNR...or a fish biologist...they will have something.
  2. 1. get better at deep structure/ drop/ ledge fishing 2. get better with Carolina rigs and drop shots 3. Find a boat and restore it before the season ends 4. Place in the top 30 of our club 6. try to get my back in shape to fish an entire day without suffering
  3. everyone see the new Shimano reels with little circut boards in them??? ...digital reels??? Have we gone a little overboard here?
  4. anyone here ever fish Brookville Lake in Indiana?????
  5. Anyone use Okuma Baitcasters? My wife uses the Okuma Spinning reels...all different models...and they are fairly nice reels and have held up well for the money she has paid. In fact the only trouble I know she has had with any of her Okumas was one got squeeky. They seem like a good reel for the money regardless of what price range you buy in. Does this hold true on their baitcasters as well? What other reel brand would you most closely comapre them to????
  6. automotive well-nuts
  7. the brazing rod thing only lasted one season on my boat..then started weeping water. Did not crack really, but did weep water. Mine patch was along the keel about mid boat though....alot more flex and stress there than what you are doing with it. good luck
  8. patience, flexibility, and not take things so seriously that he/she spends all day cranky....and for God's sake there is no belly-achin allowed on my boat! If you need to whine about the cruelty in life get a priest.
  9. we do all our scheduling before January...usually end of November, or in December...otherwise we are fighting for ramps and dates. our director also calls around and has meetings with some other local guys to try and avoid overlaps etc. It is the out of towners that always goof it up for us. Last year we had several clubs come in...no permits, no nothing...
  10. ...maybe use the third hole from the top and the seventh hole from the top on both sides...that way you can move it up and down two hole locations in either direction???? ...looks like that will give you about 3" adjustment up and down????...I would think that 3" would enough to fine tune things. I have never had or installed a jacker but I hear sometimes just an inch makes a big difference.
  11. Who uses Silver Thread line???? like it? hate it??? why?
  12. Bassin...humph!!!! I tried subscribing twice...waited and waited and waited....never got a magazine. I emailed and asked about it and got a RUDE RUDE RUDE reply about well maybe my card was declined. I use a "net spend" card that I load with cash so I know the money was there and Western Union, who issued the card, says there was never an attempt or a charge issued by them. They never tried to complete my subscription. I shared this information with Bassin' and never heard from them... ...but I keep getting junk mail from them.
  13. I spliced mine on the fly one day...strap broke and the wire fell and got cut by the trolling motor bracket in the middle of a tournament... It worked afterwards. It actually stayed that way for almost two months until I decided on a replacement.
  14. depends on the material...columbia makes alot of different jackets. I used to get this stuff from "Army Navy Surplus" near me before they closed that was for tents etc. It was a gel you rubbed on. It worked pretty well. The last stuff I got was something a friend of mine had from sierra Nevada or someplace like that...it was just you typical spray on waterproofing. Does not work as well as the gel, but still works okay.
  15. well...success not being the determining factor on style...I would say that I make an effort to be a "bass fisherman"...though I am guilty of being a spot fisherman at times, especially when I am frustrated. I will go back to just hitting spots I have had success at in the past. I will say though that most "bass fisherman"...especially those that are consistant and successful are successful because of "pattern fishing"...and most bass fisherman do pattern fish...I am not sure that the two can be seperated.
