  1. What kind of glue did you use to fix your guides? Or how you got them to work?
  2. Im going to replace the line , I have the exact same line (from the same spool) in a different reel, same brand and that one works just fine. I tried to upload a picture but the size of files the forum allows is ridiculously small (150 kb )I can't get the picture to upload, can't get it to compress that small neither
  3. I didn't want to mention the brand because last time one of my postings was lockdown by an administrator of the forums, according to him it was just a battle of brands. The guides on the rod is a good tip, Im going to double check. The reel is a Lew's Tournament Elite, the line is monofilament Sufix Edge 10lb and the rod is a Shimano Sellus Crankbait rod. Im blaming the lever wind line guide because is where I found the "little hairs" peeling of the line, plus is where I can hear the noise.
  4. I recently bought a reel that claims to have a titanium coated zirconia line guide but I noticed that when I reel constantly puts "scratch' on the line (for lack of a better word). After a long cast reeling a crank bait, there is some "threads" of line in front of the guide. nothing too dramatic but is damaging the line. I have an other reel of the same brand and it does not damage the line like the more expensive one. Is there any quick fix before replacing the part? I have checked for burrs on the guide but I can't see any.
  5. I can tell there's more quality put into those two reels, and yeah I did buy the pro max as my first baitcaster and so far it hasn't let me down. So, is there such a thing as "breaking down" a reel (the more you use it the "smother" it gets?) I'm not an expert an certainly not a pro but I can use a baitcaster properly.
  6. I mean, I did like the lews but I was thinking maybe was gonna be way way better than the revo. The casting distance is about the same in both, the lews is way lighter for sure and the handle feels better than the revo, those 11 bearings really makes it feel like air instead of bearing,,, BUT and the end of a long cast the spool makes a squeaky sound and the breaks have to be way lose to get good casting distance. On the revo you can hear and feel the bearings (not horribly). I mean all around they work alright but I was expecting maybe more out a 180 dollars lews
  7. I recently bought an Abu Garcia Revo s ($130) from Cabelas, I didn't really like it I thought I was getting some better quality, but my Abu Garcia ProMax out performs the revo, the ProMax was a combo for 99. So I went and order a Lew's Tournament Elite ($179)from Tacke Warehouse (since I have an other Lew's ($69) that I love), thinking for sure the Lew's would out perform the Revo, and to my surprise it didn't.
  8. Im new to frog fishing but I recently pucharsed a Lew's SpeedSpool Carbonfire 7:1:1 with 14lb of drag for 69.99 at Dick's, (Was on sale, normally 79.99) and I love it.
  9. Where at? I would like to go
