  1. What kind of “jigging” are you planing to do? I thought like most you were talking about the frog rod which is also good for flipping/pitching jigs. The link you provided shows the spinning rod in med/heavy. I haven’t used that particular one but it will be similar to the behavior of ther daiwa rods with same rating. I use a cronos 72mh for finesse jigs.
  2. June bug catches big fish. My buddy has multiple 8lbers this year on a trigged June bug trick worm. But the profile does matter also... hard to say which was the main factor but switch it up next time and see if your results are the same.
  3. U2-still haven’t found what I’m looking for. Can’t figure how to link it better https://youtu.be/e3-5YC_oHjE
  4. On the auction site you can get a: bantam Mgl for $269 metanium mgl $308 both are phenomenal
  5. Those rods will suit those techniques quite well.
  6. Look for subtle differences in cover or structure. Keep doing what your doing, eventually you’ll catch a good one. I’d focus on evening and low light hours with a small buzzbait, spook, Colorado blade spinnerbait and senkos. Hopefully the pond doesn’t have so many small fish that it’s stunted the growth of the fish.
  7. They strong enough. You won’t break them
  8. The bantam is slightly heavier than the met but to me it makes a huge difference on the 893. The reel is also a little more compact which to me feels better in hand with the thickness of the reel seat/handle area-I have medium sized hands. But If you love the way it feels with the metanium than no need to change but get a bantam anyway! Lol. Youll love it along with the others
  9. Balances even better with a bantam. Now the metanium is is spot on with the nrx 853! Jmo though.
  10. I agree! i love the nrx 893 but is tip heavy for such a light rod. to me any reel less than 7oz feels bad. the bantam mgl is sweet on this rod
  11. Powell makes great rods for the price. The endurance, max 3D and max series are excellent. They are slightly more stout than what you’d expect but they absolutely deliver when you set the hook with them. If you can find a max 3D 725 get it. It states that it’s moderate fast and suited for cranks, topwater etc. but its a powerful rod & makes a good overall rod for pitching, trigs, c rigs and most anything else you can think of. The most versatile rod in the group imo
  12. Unfortunately all the shakey head styles get stuck in rocks pretty easily. I’ve tried all styles. Going lighter has been more effective as to avoid getting stuck for me.
  13. 2 different techniques. There are many ways to work a spinnerbait. Usually your location and the fishes location will dictate which to use
  14. It’s good, same blank just cheaper components than the original
  15. I don’t use my good bass gear on the river simply because it’s a harsher environment than the lakes i fish. I like using round abus for river fishing. It can withstand the sand and the fish better than my more refined baitcasters.
  16. A little late on posting but the night fishing has been decent. Haven’t been as much as I’d like and my usual spots aren’t fishing like they should but still making it work.
  17. I have the 6’8” m fast legend extreme and 6’10” m fast lengend elite. I’ll disagree with sensitivity comparable to the nrx rods. To me there less sensitive than the glx series and more along the lines of the imx. That’s just me. They are light though.
  18. Swim jig- keitech fat swing, eco pro or bass pro/rage swimmer. All similar chatterbait- lake fork live magic shad spinnerbait- any split tail
  19. It’ll be fine with 1/4 plus senko etc
  20. For football jigs- rage craw or rage lobster Flipping jigs- yum craw chunk casting jigs- zoom ultra speed craw
  21. You have to send the rod with the warranty form filled out. Then they will send a replacement.
  22. Most of the time you won’t get a response, the rod will show up in a couple weeks.
  23. The best rod under $200 imo is a hammer. You won’t regret it. If your willing to spend a little bit more, for $219 monster tackle has the lamiglas infinity rod 724c. It is an amazing stick!!!! Sensitivity is unbelievable.
