  1. ...They sound great by there description ...top shelf components, i prefer cork ....blank sounds almost composite like which is as durable as it gets usually. i'm willing to give up a little sensitivity and weight for that.
  2. Take a look at 2 piece Diawa Spinmatic rods, hard to be beat for price IMO ...great feel and quality . ....40 bucks i believe they sell for.
  3. Curious about the overall build quality and durability of the blank and guides, dont see alot of info on them. Looking for something that can stand up to typical beating rods take from bank and canoe and stand up to infrequent saltwater use, medium power, fast action. Thinking about another mojo as have two, they have held up but been always suspect of the guides on them ...
  4. figured i should do follow up...moaner strokers have been the answer, been doing a number on the fish with them. Biggest surprise has been the stroker coupled with the elaztech crawdadz in the 1/8 size when conditions allow ..fish cant stay off it The thing's practically indestructible too,
  5. Found after lotta tinkering that that less hardware & knots and lightest line practical means more fish with the dropshot. Tried spinshot hooks ..they work but feel more bites with just mosquito hook and the weight ..yes they help with line twist particularly with non worm plastics ..its a tradeoff and I can tie on the dropshot tig quick with spinshots when have tag end with weight already set up ...convienient when bank fishing or one spinning rod at the ready, For line I like straight pline cxx in 6lb moss green. Fairly cheap and had similiar catch rates when used fluorocarbon . waters rarely gin clear where i fish. ...like size 2 and 4 mosquito hooks but the gamakatsus work fine too.
  6. twistlock lights and even better if using around 6lb test is the twistlock finesse hooks ...thin wire but havent been bending them ...mostly use the 1/0 on them I find i get twice the life outa baits with the cps spring hooks
  7. Missle drop craw. I just picked up a bag ..look like they'll catch well dropshot just looking at them ..3" and slender, could pinch off and make even smaller for panfish, trout . .... 2"& 3" twin tail grubs good craw imitation too ..done well with them on bass fished slow just after ice disappears. fish on dropshot or small jighead
  8. ..added pack of 4/0 double takes to shopping list
  9. instead of trying to reinvent things i guess i should just get the hooks designed for it ...lol I like the ribbits action best of frogs i've tinkered with plus there durable but i'm thinking cause of the dense plastic they are made of it gets in way of hook set with single hook ive been using.....Thanks.
  10. Looking to try a new hook when fishing them this coming year. Been using a 5/0 owner twistlock in the 3.5" frog but feel been missing way too many fish plus when run into and over pads it sometimes will run upside down and not right itself right away, . Wonder what others were using with success. prefer a single hook but may get swayed to a double.. Maybe a weighted hook? The new owner double hooks look interesting but havent seen any feedback on them.
  11. 3" lunker city ribster ...killer, my fav. only negative is everything will eat it ...big sunnies, crappie, perch pickerel. The 4.5 is great too,
  12. I was essentially fishing them that way this fall in local pond i call my test pond ...little solder wrapped on twistlock light hook shank only difference ..they smashed it on light spinning gear. Would like to get a nice vertical fall and longer cast though and be able to use on baitcast outfit.
  13. ...i'll have to try that. it is a fish catching machine fished whether on a jighead, weightless etc ...i even had good luck with it on an owner flashy swimmer which is more or less a spinnerbait. all size fish will wack it.
  14. Thanks, ..they look ideal. I sifted through ***'s and basspro's offerings and couldnt find what i was looking for to get where i wanna go. basspro has pinch on weights i can make own but wouldnt be as streamlined as those moaners. owner needs something like that in there lineup. I see those stik'r pins they sell on there site too, was looking for something like that for the elastech worms/baits instead of fighting with and heating springs.
  15. retooling for spring...whats preffered wighted hook size/style for baby rage craw rage rigged? Really not alot weighted hook options under 4/0, and a lot of them are heavy wire types. Overkill for me since I generally fish 6-10lb line. I really like owner twistlock lights for everything and gone as far as wrapping solder on 2/0 and 3/0 hooks Did real well with these little devils late in season here rigging them various ways, wish played with them lot sooner
