  1. I believe you are right, I just looked on google maps and I see the Dam he took me to.
  2. Here are some pics of my Black Hawk bag. Back cushion Plenty of back cushion Thick shoulder padding 3-3500, 1-3600, 1 Deep 3700, 1 BPS about the same size as a 3600 Plenty of room Also a 3rd pocket that holds bags of plastics baits.
  3. Mine is similar to this one http://www.amazon.com/BlackHawk-3-Day-Assault-Pack-Coyote/dp/B000Q9GLLW/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1418397360&sr=8-4&keywords=blackhawk+backpack
  4. I just use a regular back pack and use plano boxes to hold most of my stuff. For the price of what some of these tackle bags go for you could get a really rugged backpack off of Amazon. I have a Black Hawk back pack my ex gave me (Airforce gave to her) that I use that is tough as nails. They do cost but are made to last outdoors in any condition.
  5. Gamblers Flappy Daddy craws, there web site has them in bulk (50) for $20 and they work great as trailers. Just enough arm movement as a trailer to cause strikes. They have a fairly strong garlic smell that last. With segmented bodies you have 3 sizes to use per bait. Going to try them with MegaStrikes pro shakey head.
  6. Mines been great this year, I want to go back to a lake I fished a couple of yrs ago north west of Aiken. It connect with Ga and is huge, my buddy lives in Aiken and took me there and I loved it. Caught my first stripper there and it was pretty empty when we went. I haven't fished the 2 major lakes here yet but Lake Marion is the closest to me so that one is on my to do list.
  7. I've only fished 2 states SC and Fl and both hold big bass but I have to go with Fl as the best to fish. what other state holds Peacock bass (cichlids)?
  8. Rage Toad has worked well for me for top water, bad part is small bass try and eat them too and all they do is tear a foot off making the lure junk. My most productive buzzbait has been from Booya, it a bleeding color and they really respond to it. My other buuzbaits (in differnt colors includding all black) don't seem to have the same affect. I tried using a trailer and they just seem to hinder my cast or the way the lure tracks. Could be I'm just not putting the right trailer on or I'm not putting them on right. Pretty sure it's me and I just need to practice with them.
  9. Spinnerbaits have been my weak point, but I have high hopes for the MegaStrikes (double colorado) I just bought. I landed a nice 1 1/2lber last week but it was the first time I used a trailer with it as well. That maybe what I have been missing. Since my chatterbait only get hit with trailers I put on one and it woked. Bass in my pods are really picky.
  10. Thanks
  11. 3lbs in the ponds I fish.
  12. They work great on chatterbaits, the vibration really makes the tail flail about triggering strikes ime.
  13. Denali J2 spinning rod, Rapala & Storm crankbaits, MegaStrike Cavitron buzzbait/spinner bait/grubs/Shake2 Pro Model Shaky Head, BioEdge shad/crawfishing wand, Power Pro 20lb braid.
  14. I started shopping at TW about 2 months ago and it has been a God send for me. Most of the local shops here (Ladson,SC) carry Strike King, Booya, and lots of Zman (Zman is located here), with some Rapala and Rebel sprinkled here and there. The prices are high and the brands I like/discovered thanks to TW just aren't here (Dirty Jigs, Netbaits, D&M,MegaStrike), they also seem to open @10am all week. I work nights so staying up that "late" is very inconvenient for me, shopping at 3am and tax free works out perfect for me (all other chains I pay tax and shipping). Better selection, better prices, convenient shopping in my situation, and free shipping/tax free.
  15. Almost forgot my rod was an Ugly stick 2 peice (convient storing) just repleced with a Denali J2 7'' Med/Mod (used it this moring and I am very happy with it) since I throw crank baits most of the time (Rapala DT's/Fat03's) and chatterbaits (still have some Phenix vibrator jigs) and some now discountiued D&M's. Line I use Power Pro 20lb braid on a Shimano CI4+ (spinning) with no lead as the water is pretty stained and the moss green blends well.
  16. Hello all. I've been lurking around the forums for a few weeks (learned quit a bit here) so I decided to join. All of my freshwater fishing is done on a hunting club with stocked ponds (just under 200 acres) as to avoid dealing with rude and inconsidere folks that fish all the public fishing holes (no boat; all the decent spots are over crowded as well). Most of the hunting memebrs target brim and crappie with a small group of us target bass, this has created an average weight of 3+ lb LMB swiming around that has spoiled me . Best part is being on private property I can do what ever I feel like (i.e shot my gun, blast my music, leave my truck wide open and nothing is stolen, ect). Here are some pics of my catches this year....largest ones
