  1. Crap I forgot this was tonight. Spend most my evening talking wedding plan’s. We put the deposit down on location today.
  2. fashionably late is better than never
  3. I work on Wednesday so I might be in a little late
  4. I’ll be casting from the bank. Set it up tonight with a 1/4 oz weight as the water I’m fishing is less than ten foot. 2/0 Gammy ewg and about 8 inch seperation from the hook to the weight cause it’s all fairly shallow Hopefully this all works right. The bottom is muck and grass so this should do an excellent job of keeping the bait up
  5. So I’m guessing just a regular Palomar with a long tag end should do the trick? I plan on using this bank fishing. Bottom of pond is full of muck not to mention there’s some grass
  6. Tip balance and backbone to pitch finesse jigs and say 3/16 oz weighted plastics and unweighted yum dingers Funny cause I’m using a tat sv on it as well when I pull the trigger
  7. So guys I’ve decided I’m gonna try this drop shot thing with 14 pound sniper and a 3 power dobyns casting rod. Any knot tips or ideas on how to tie this thing and make it easy for a beginner would be fantastic. I typed power shot in the search bar nothing popped up so I’m kinda clueless cause I’m not really a finesse fisherman
  8. The full contact finesse caught my eye but I’m still undecided. I’d like to see someone offer insight on it
  9. I use a Trd on a Tokyo rig with 2 1/8 oz weights for noise. Works pretty well
  10. I work Saturday so I’ll miss out
  11. Sorry I couldn’t make it y’all. My family came in to town for lunch so lunch it was
  12. does not wear me out or make me cramp and I as well use heavier reels but it’s something I noticed as I was bouncing back and forth with dobyns and other brands. It’s primarily like a clunky feeling too me. I spend ungodly amounts of time flipping and pitching. Different strokes for different folks though. I still would like to try one if I could ever sell this dobyns I never use
  13. Exactly man. No need to apologize. To be honest this has kinda kept me sane during the period of non fishing. Plus I moved to a place where I can’t seem to find any mutual fisherman around here so having this to meet with like minded individuals has been amazing
  14. same here but I might hop on the zoom call as I’m fishing ???
  15. I owned a Fitzgerald rod that was tip heavy as Dolly Parton before so I’m always cautious lol
  16. I’ve yet to try a st croix due to the tip heavy I always hear about and I primarily own dobyns. This series though the talk of balance really has me intrigued
  17. guy in the high yeller means business. Look that captain Morgan stance. Beyond spiffy and serious
  18. so what you’re saying is ????? kidding
  19. Dx 746 dx745 dx704 dx795 dc735c dc765flip dc683 Sierra 684c kaden 715c fury 733c ?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️ I have issues
  20. I just saw that post ??? When in doubt go with the champ 735. It’s been pretty much the flagship rod and you can do any single hook presentation with honestly. That soft tip is something to behold
  21. I have the dx 746 actually
  22. I own the champ 735. It’s a medium heavy in the flip model basically. It’s got the tip of a 4 power but the backbone of a 5. The mag heavy in the Sierra is exactly that. A mag heavy And don’t do this unless it’s heavy heavy cover. I can pitch all the way up to 3/4 of an oz in some gnarly stuff with fluorocarbon
  23. I try to understand the need for longer punching rods. I mean am I really losing that much leverage on the fish between my 7’4 and 7’6
  24. Hopefully all goes well where me and dad can go next Sunday. He needs it worse than I do. I at least have a pond close. He doesn’t have that benefit lol
